I've been chasing a fault with the ABS unit for a while now, its getting better but still not right. So far I have replaced the ABS ECU, stop light switch, battery terminals and had a CV joint reconditioned (which seemed to help).

So my next thing is the relays circled in the attachment  (items 5, 6), are there after market units that I can replace these with ? Has anybody else replaced these ?

Thanks in advance

They just look like relays. I think we mentioned these might be stuffed in a previous thread. Good to actually see they are seperate. Pull them out and have a look at them. The primary resistance will need to be the same but I wouldnt think they would differ.

The only other thing is the motor relay maybe a solidstate relay as it may switch the motor on and off really fast. If so they are dearer but still available. Ive never heard of a solid state relay on anything older than about 2005 so interested if it is......

Yes, I thought I had seen that thread but could not find it again so I was not sure if I had remembered correctly. Thanks for mentioning it, I will go and have a another look.

The pump was running continuously if I recall. And we suggested it was a sticking relay on the pump.... looks like you know what/where it is.

Was it you with this problem?

My car was the one with the abs pump staying on. It only stopped when I took the battery off. And has not done it since. The auto sparky couldn't fault it. But did find my check engine light wasn't working. It all works fine so far.
