So ive been wanting to do this for a while now.... I saw one done like this years ago and it keeps the interior tidy, standard and safe from pyring eyes looking for goodies to steal...

Here is the full dimensions with photos to build a custom subwoofer box good for a 10" sub. The inside dimensions of box add up to just under 21 litres. Its the biggest i could make for the space that we have but ideal for a decent 10" sub

Personally i have taken out the whole interior and put over 80 square feet of sound deadener... Its not necessary for this but something i wanted to do for my car to improve sound inside the car and to keep road noise out.

2 planks of pine from bunnings at least 16 mil thick

The only thing you'll have to cut from the car is part of the metal on the wall to fold over and lower for the box sit flush

You'll obviously have to cut the original plastic box out too... Im planning not to replace the door with some mesh to cover the sub and allow you to hear it properly

You'll have to angle shave off a few mills on the front panel for it to fit flush between the left and right panels

If you want a bit better sound out of it use MDF as it is a denser wood Good instructions and info though Pity i have my battery and relays for fuel pumps there ... I have to find some where else to fit a 12"....

To put it all together i used 'Hard as Nails' and a few nails to initially hold it together... I didnt go nuts with the nails as the plan is to use decent screws all the way around the box to make sure it doesnt fall apart with all the sub vibrations.

I cut a round whole on the Left panel for the wiring connection to fit... I used one from another sub box i wasnt using

Thats about where im up to at this stage.. I wont be cutting a hole in the front panel until i buy the Sub im using to make sure i dont over cut the area.

 

Regarding my amp, depending on the size of it im planning on installing it under the front drivers seat to keep it neat and hidden

Go mono block digital for the sub. Smaller, lighter, more power, less heat. All good, but not as good for mids and tweeters

Maybe because. I'm a dad of 5, but a sealed 12" box scewed to where the rear seat used to be does it foe me. however, when i used to mess around wifh ported boxes there was a web site that gou could get calculations off of. it was sensational!!! I had twin10's ported and fhey thumped!!!! best of luck my friend.

Ported boxes are always bigger than a sealed box.
As a young guy, I had a pair of free air 12" in the parcel shelf, with the sealed boot as enclosure. The windscreen wipers would bounce as they crossed the glass leaving rain behind.

Yeah im 32 now, im not after silly bass, just some really decent sound that you 'cant' see from the outside.

I'm thinking of placing a Pioneer TS-WX77A or TS-WX710A underneath the boot floor, instead of the plastic panel with the little spaces that houses there.
Don't know if it fits, I haven't measured it yet. My HSG is still in state of repairs and I don't have it round the house.
