Hi guys, I'm upgrading to a td05, evo afm and injectors. Car already has fmi and fuel system upgrades.

Just to confirm -an e3 ecu will plug straight into the above set up and will it be good to go without a remap?

Thanks in advance

On a 1.8 l ?
It will plug in....but will most likely be rich.
Might want to put a wideband in and check it out.
I wouldnt be thrashing it around till you did that and if you have some way of logging it would be even better.

Would taking the stock

gsr ecu to meek for a re map be a better option?

cheers

yes it'll run fine and with just bolt ons from the evo see you into the mid 13's. this is how my car ran for a year before the harmonic balancer spun off and destroyed a crank

definitely.....he will log your car and make sure its right too.

edit....when you say remapped I assumed you meant a new chip...which is the best option.

I didn't think you could remap a stock gsr ecu ? I thought you couldn't do anything with them, hence the fitting of EVO ecu's or chipping with ECM etc or the fitting of after market units.

you have to get it chipped. as someone who has been running evo ecu turbo afm and injectors i can tell you right now it will be prefectly fine and will not run overly rich. infact my fuel consumption actually went down!

Evo3 ecu with ecmtuning you should be able to tweak it to make it work. Especially with the narrowband simulation.

You don't need ECM tuning you can run the ecu in factory guise provided you use the afm and injectors that come equipped on the 4g63's.

+1 for k.
The ecu is pretty adaptable, certainly if you are cruising and idling in closed loop the ecu will trim fueling to suit and run perfect.
But as jamo said, I would get a wideband o2 to check the full throttle areas as the ecu will not trim this.

I have a innovate mtx-l, I like it a lot. It will log, but you could just put your phone camera on it and do a 3rd gear pull

Again thanks brains trust! All the parts have been located for the mods, will let you know how it performs. Meek is around the corner so will get him to check wot mixtures.

Should be fine, I'm running the setup. Does get overly richt to an afr of 10.1:1 on WOT at higher revs. But idle and cruise it's no problem.
