Should the head bolts be replaced if removing the cylinder head? I have found diffent types online as well. Head bolts and studs with nuts. Also 11mm and 12mm. I have a vr4 4g63t. Ive ordered a new head gasket. I found arp head studs in the states for $90 us.

head bolts of the standard type shouldnt be reused as they are made od black butter!!.  ARP studs can be reused....if the listing states "6 bolt" you are on the right track.

You probably already know, but ARP studs will allow you to run easily double the max boost the stock bolts will handle without the head lifting.

Thanks for the replies. Do you guys recommend any suppliers in Australia for getting arp studs. Meek have them for $300. Too much coin for me. I might just order from u.s. and play the waiting game. My topline lifters took 2 weeks but worth waiting for.

I would get the $90 ones from the US if they are the same as the $300 ones from here.
Massive saving even with shipping cost on top.

Not many fans here in Perth, but he's half the price of your $300 ones, not much more than from the US with postage.

Your car may still randomly explode tho.......... Just saying..... (Parody, not to be taken seriously..  :) )

Aussie post now has a shipper (freight forwarder) service in the usa. You get a usa address and they send the bits to you. Its $25 minimum plus $5 every 500gm. Teddy bears and light things are done by volume.
