I seem to have way too much spare time so what a better way to waste it by doing another project car.
A few months ago I found a $200 mirage and we went nuts with the air hacksaw.

So as you can see we are over the hump and now I'm getting all brakes,clutch accelerator cables etc in.

Just bought me a Chromoly pipe bender and notcher too, so a bit of cage work, rear firewall behind the seat and im good to go

The engine is out of the fwd coupe for the moment, once I work out if this will

work well, im going to build a hi comp bottom end for it

could be a handful keeping the front wheels planted.

 

How are you going to set up the gear change cables? just make the longer?

Awesome, I have drempt of this sort of a set up for ages. It makes perfect sense.
Did you think of leaving the front engine in it as well, making it awd and dual engines? That would keep the front down anyway....

The linkages are done, I just reversed the shifter mount and adjusted a few little things and it works a treat.

I will take some more pics of the shifter mod.

The front end is stock with a non power steering rack out of a cc coupe.

The clutch cable is done and the brakes are almost done too.

Shifter linkages are done, hydraulic hand brake is done, side exit exhaust is done.

Today we will start mounting radiator and fuel cell, and hoses etc

What's the plan for the rear suspension? Are you going CC rear trailing setup? Curious to see how it holds together once it starts seeing big ponies.
