well thats my plan too maybe thats why it sounds so good, lol
another rvr build not stuffing around!
It seems like the 4g scene goes in waves, vr4 guys doing big builds, then all the coupe fellas at one stage, now the rvr boys are doing big overhauls... even the 4g vans at one stage.

I have got the auto box back from Aldo, and got some work done on the stall converter so it shouldn't be too long till I have a rolling and running machine.
Till then I shall entertain you all with random pics of different parts of The steaming pile of R
Relocated battery to left side rear.
I retained the modified tool/storage tray, I always need more storage space for porn and cocaine.

Oooh id love one of those tool trays!! Ive got my battery in the back too...
Are you aiming for an amount of hp? Or a quarter mile time??
I reckon sometime early 2015 there'll be a bunch of tough RVR's around QLD ready to hit the track

As close as I can get to porn and cocaine Jamo ↓
Not sure on HP figure Lars, but my end goal is to crack 11 on the 1/4, obviously not on the stock engine. Even with the forged build I'm not sure if the turbo or injectors will be big enough to
crack 11s, so I'll probably have upgrade them, plus I'll need lower diff ratios to get it's fat arse off the line
I'm interested to see what the stock engine has to offer, 13s maybe?
I'm looking forward to a pack of RVRs at a meet up

Thats what id like... a nice 11 second daily driven RVR.
How are you going to change the ratios?
I sooooo much prefer the gear ratios of the Sportsgear than the Hypergears! 1st and 2nd gear are shockingly quick in ours, but you can run all the way to 90k's in 2nd in yours.

I like to get head on my work bench, I also like to make it better by using air tools.................I know what you are thinking and you have filthy minds, especially you Jamo!
I blueprinted the head, every port is the same. I measured around 400 points in each runner to get this. I was guided by a head machinist who does big power speedway engines, so it's ported for top end flow, although the ports still
have the characteristic reduced cross section in the runner to keep port velocity as high as possible given the work done. I'll be getting the seats cut for 1mm oversize valves, and the guides replaced but shaped a bit.
I'm not completely happy with the shape at the approach to the short side radius, I think it needs to be widened a touch to slow the air speed a touch more before the turn in the parts circled. The short side radius is already a good
shape on these 7 bolt heads from factory so just need a clean up to get rid of lips and flaws.
The casting is not the greatest on these heads as this pic shows. Right in the injector path!
The combustion chamber was also in need of some love to eliminate sharp edges which can get red hot and cause possible detonation, and a bit of de-shrouding around the valve seats. There is not a lot of room to move with the
de-shrouding though, but every bit helps. I am going to cc the combustion chambers to keep it all consistent before I get it machined.

A bit of dress for the Steaming pile of R, the reality is I was too lazy to paint it with all the crappy flaking paint so I wrapped it!
It looks quite good with the satin black I have painted so far as a test.

Bit of a PITA but it was not too bad, better with a second pair of hands though.
Plenty of Youtube tutorials on wraps which I recommend watching.
