Not picking here....but doesnt that notch actually decrease the internal diameter to less than 3" (more like 2.75") at that crucial exit point?

Yes it does slightly, although considering the outlet on the turbo 2.5", the hump actually makes the transition gradual... So 2.5" to 2.75" to 3"

Might actually be good thing hehe...

can the bottom of the waste gate pipe be carried down to the botton flange? rather than welded to the to the 3" pipe...that way deleting the sharpness of the join

Actually thats strategic on my part... when the waste gate fires, it fires into the curve of the next 90deg...

I do the same with the EVO4-9 split dumps, seems to work fairly well...

More input the better guys! tell me your thoughts about it..

Cross section on the inside:

With the hump, 3.5" deep by 2.6" wide.. so should compensate a lot with the hump being there for the nut.

more like the pic above where the waste gate pipe meets the flange. But explain more about "firing into the 90 degree"?

The bend where the waste gate pipe meets the 3" pipe, is not actually that sharp of a bend... would have loved to merged it better but with the amount of room, it will be harder to weld..

the badly drawn red line is how the air flows out of the waste gate pipe, should be minimal turbulence when the 2 meet..

Anyone got photo of a side view of a factory 4G63 off an evo 1-3?? (showing turbo etc)

and a factory VR4 (Aspec with water/oil cooler and lines)?

Preferably not a google photo (looking to see whats in the area of the dump pipe for clearance)

Would imagine that the way and angle of the WG joint it would help pull the gas out of the gate with minimal turbulance.
