Never seen those before, would be a great combo on a stock 1.8l. Awesome spool with plenty of top end.

I'd be using your stock actiator though as the 14.5psi one that comes with this might cause issues without supporting mods

very interdasting didn't think the 16g cover fit on the CHRA of the td04 because that's a mega spool reduction time from the like of a std 16g

Hmmm... could be interested, just so I understand, you have a bigger compressor driven by a TD04 turbine ?

So problem with stock 4g93T turbo inefficiencies are reduced (because bigger better compressor) but spool time is not increased (much) because turbine is TD04?

If so, that could be awesome!!

I think this is a solution a lot of people with stock(ish) 93ts have been after for a while now.

Yeh sounds like it could be a winner for street 93s maybe it's too new for results and experiences?

For the price, it's probably worth giving it a shot.

Considering the only negatives associated with running a 16g on a 1.8l are the bit of lag, I don't see any problems as this should eliminate that problem.

There are very few negative reviews about the Kinugawa turbos, I'm personally running one with no problems (so far) at 24psi.

I say buy it and let us know how you go. I know I'm curious.

Id think that it'd lag like a 16g an flow less up top, the steeper int. side would make it harder for the exh. side to start spinning it??

The top end would be more restricted due to the smaller exhaust housing, however I wouldn't imagine it'd take much to get the 16g wheel spinning using the td04 exhaust wheel?

So what exactly is the restriction on a stock TD04?

Is it compressor limitations ? Or is the turbine the limiting factor, ie can the turbine drive a bigger compressor without suffering as much increased lag as a 16g (because turbine is not any bigger) ?

I assume that there will be some increased lag because its a bigger compressor with more inertia and moving more air.

I'm really really tempted by this...

There will be minimal increase in lag over a factory td04, however there will still be some.

I'd think this would be a similar situation to a td05 20g, whereby the exhaust wheel is based on a standard 16g but with a bigger inducer.

Wouldn't be like putting a 20g wheel on a 16g turbo? There were gains made there

not sure if gsr was 13t or 19t

if i wasn't already committed to the 16g and td05 I'd be extremely interested in this.
