Hi guys.

I have rescued a rvr 97.Its blown its centere diff.Too good to go to the scrap metal merchants.ssg Ralliart.Gearbox #w5m332umxl.have pics but my mac doesnt want to  upload.(Operator error ?? ) Jack of all says gearbox gurus in Perth.If you let me know where and when can deliver box. Or meet.

I have a wmxl rvr box in the shed.   check the transcode on the build plates....look for 3.909 or 3.545

I have a press and pullers, and have had no problems with the gearbox I reraced. But I only put bearings on the input and inter shaft and new seals throughout. Oh, and a synchro on 2nd.

bearings are pretty dear or come from the states with some delay. But they are first to wear and you might as well replace them while in there.

White Knight (Ian) has a manual box disassembled in his shed, he might have the parts you need.

Sorry, I hadn't been following this...... The box is a RVR hsgr manual. I won't be home til the 5th Feb to have a look though. Pm me if you can wait that long Frank. Cheers.

Hi all.The gearbox fits and i have the van running.Cant give it a run cause its not licensed. Realy pleased so far.Where can i source a speedo cable ( inner and outer )?

RVRs are a bit thin on the ground for wrecking Frank. but this guy "might" split his up to sell his.

You can use the centre diff from a GSR Lancer or EVO I-III in the RVR manual gearbox. That will increase your options.

Can get a movement permit. You will need one to get to pits as well

Hi all.

Been away last few months.First the good news,Gear box works just fine.Now the bad news.Took it for a run,put the foot in saw 20 psi on the boost gauge then nothing else cause the smoke blotted everything out including the road.Motor just lost power and went very quite.So did I.Wife not happy when came to tow me home.Turbo still spins ok,timing belts and timing ok.Compresion test next, 4 gave 150 psi cold after sitting for 3 months.Whoopee.3=75  2=55  1=55.Not so good.So as some bygone king said,Off with the head.1 2 pistonsburnt down side bore scored but not too bad 3much better  4 still has the cross hatching still very prominent.Sump off and pop the pistons,very sad.Gets hot in there.All these can be fixed with time and momey.(ive got the time).

Big Question is why.

Who in Perth for rebore and pistons Forged  (???)

Where for bearings gaskets etc.

This motor unknown history.Has big exhaust,16g turbo welded to manifold and has bov .Pistons are branded  Mitsubishi. air cleaner is a pod.Injectors are marked 450.

Would like to make this little bus my daily driver so will be treated well but nice to have some passing power on the highway.
