Hi guys,
A mate of mine is chasing a front clutch type LSD for his EVO 3 rally car.
Looking for either Ralliart, KAZZ or Cusco if anyone has one.
Or knows of a new supplier for KAZZ or Cusco.
Cheers.

If you do find a 2nd hand Kaaz LSD make sure you get the LSD bolts for the crownwheel with it.
From memory they require Kaaz specific LSD bolts for the crownwheel as they have a smaller head diameter on them.
The OEM Mitsu LSD bolts wont work because their bolt heads are too wide a diameter and foul on the Kaaz LSD cover.
yep, MD for kaaz, and about the cheapest around for them

Here's some pics I took of an actual DBM2010 EVO I-III version Kaaz LSD so you can see how they are constructed internally.
There's also a pdf doc attached.
Cool thanks for the info guys, I think he is going to go with the Kazz,
I am actually going to grab a new rear Kazz LSD now!
I have just the thing for a rally car - front Cusco MZ in good condition. PM me if you're interested.

I already have a spare box with a ralliart front LSD. but will pass the info onto my mate Bazeng.
Canadian CD9A, does this replace the VCU?
No, I just have front differential available, no centers. Anything for the center is nearly impossible to find now.

Black evo 1 full road rego and done properly/legally
I have heaps of parts...but never the one I need.
no...very much different that is still 50/50 torque split
That has an lsd to replace the viscous and according to some old info I found should be a four spider...rather than the two which is standard.

^^^ The Kaaz centre diff has been on EBay for over year. Says it was last updated April 2014.
I know the Quaife centres diffs are weak and break easier than stock.
I will have to check up on the Kaaz. But always be careful buying 2nd hand unless you trust the person.
I also would want to know whether they are a discontinued item or not?
I have a Cusco tarmac gear centre diff here with broken teeth on the outer drive gear cog that mates to 3rd intermediate. Im furious about it because when it broke about 2-3 years ago, I contacted Cusco who said they will send me one for $330AU from memory. So I had all planned to get it replaced... then got a message to say the Cusco tarmac was discontinued and parts weren't available anymore. That is from Cusco Australia and Cusco Japan. I tried contacting everybody. Internally it's fine, but without the external drive gear its useless, except as spare parts for a housing and planetary gear internals. The worsrt thing about it is the outer gear just unbolts with allen keys for easy replacement too!!! grrrrr........
Hmm okay, that Kazz unit does look tempting, I usually replace my Ralliart VCU every season with a brand new unit.
Maybe this would give a better drive, especially on gravel.

Most of the problem with the 3's on gravel is too much oversteer, Which I am trying to dial out at the moment. With more understeer you can drive it more aggressive, which should make it quicker. I wonder what the works cars used before they went to an active center diff? maybe something like the KAZZ?
The LSD center is for off-road, yes. Unless you preload it very loose to work, it will cause more understeer. Before the 6-speed XTrac setup, Mitsubishi's factory rally cars used a Ralliart viscous coupling in the sequential 5-speeds, which was different from the Ralliart viscous coupler that Mitsubishi sold over the shelf to Evo customers. A couple of them have survived, but the whole transmission is needed to make it work.
I'd argue that the Cusco Tarmac is terrible for rallying - it's an open diff with no locking ability, after all. No locking ability in an AWD diff means it would allow one axle to spin for days while the other axle watched and laughed. Tarmac and gravel setups are typically complete opposites on the setup spectrum. Tarmac needs loose center diffs and heavier spring rates to prevent sway, gravel/snow needs tight center diffs and low spring rates.
