Rb30 is a 3 litre isn't it? That's a pretty big difference to a 1.8

If I were you, I would sell your brand new 2871r and for the money received I'd get 16g, evo1-3 ecu, injectors and afm, as dre suggested. Invest a little more on top for evo intercooler/piping and some 3in exhaust. Socket the ecu, enable launch control and enjoy what the car has to offer ;)

An RB30 will spool up a big turbo a lot quicker than a 4g93 dude.
If you made the same "specific power" as your mate (400rwkw), you would be looking at approx 240kw atw.
I had a Galant GSR (fwd) that made 180kw at the wheels and it was all wheelspin and a tad stupid. Fun though it was....
Further, just as a baseline, the giant killer that the Lancer GSR was and still is, it made 141kw AT THE CRANK and it was good for a low 15 quarter mile. You really don't need much to make a lancer go real hard and embarass a LOT of fancy pants out there.
My 2cents. I love your enthusiasm though mate.

The pistons arnt the weak point in a 93 the rods are problem is and i challenfe you to find a set is forged rods all use floating wrist pins this means you need a retaining clip in the piston to keep the pin from backing out and killing your bore before wearing away the pin enough for it to drop one side and send a rod unrestrained around your block.

You really need to set your goals and budget you want out of your car, then plan around that. At the end of the day, it's all about how much money you are prepared to spend. HP figures on paper may not equate to how fast your car will be on the street. I would get familiar with your current setup and get it running good before you plan to mod- as you might end up spending a stack of hard earned cash and end up with a car that barely feels faster.

Do you data log? How much timing is your factory ECU advancing at wide open throttle? Any knock being recorded? Are you measuring AFR's with a wide band?

If you could answer some of our questions and let us know your exact current setup then someone will be able to offer you some solid advice on what to do from here... possibly netting you some decent gains, while saving thousands.

This is a good thread! Props to you svanh1993 for asking to do something different.
There's been an upgrade path for the older 4GT cars that has been followed by many over the years. There's a reason why people stick to it. Because it works. A TD05 Big 16g on a 4G93T with usual supporting mods like fuel, intake, exhaust, cooler piping, clutch etc is enough for you to do 12's any day of the week.

Don't forget that banging a 'big' turbo on will NOT make your car go faster. Especially if you will be running low PSI and out of it's effiency range. A well set-up and efficent car that is tuned right will not only be heaps more fun to drive, but a hell of a lot quicker all throughout the rev range.
Speaking from experience (a lot of others will agree with me here too) you should plan your mod path over and over to make sure you
A. Get the most from it
B. Save yourself shitloads of time and cash by buying the right parts
C. Do it once and do it properly.
Failing that- sell up and buy a car that someone else has already spent their cash on and enjoy that then carry on from there.

This thread is going off in a pretty weird tangent here. Are we talking about a GT turbo on a 4G93T or how you wasted a ton of cash on a 6G74 when you could have just sprayed a 50 shot

If you did any work to your Pajero and didn't change the inlet manifold, you wasted money.
