Yeah, not saying you can't make 300, it just going to be on the limit of chucking its guts doing it. Forged internals don't make power, they just help to hold the power in. Lots of air/fuel, boost, timing and rpm make power. There is a guy on here making near 300 on a 93, much money and knowledge needed.

with nothing more than some tuning i picked up 20hp my goal is 200AWKW but i'm sure i could get more. if you've got the haltech grab the flex sensor and run e85 do a nice manageable 98 tune then add the e85 for the extra 40 or so hp

300 kw is easily attainable with a 63t...just saying.
Good luck getting it out of a 93t

making power on a 93t isn't hard it's just one part that is optional to most 63 builds is necessary on most 93 builds. once you address the weak rods of the 93t you can happily go and making most any power level you want.

little tidbit of info the 93 shares alot of dimensions with honda's b18 engine. there's b18's making in excess of 500whp. the reason you don't see this in 93 builds is because many just opt for the easy route of Mitsubishi's god engine. just because most people don't doesn't mean it can't or is overly difficult.

hell there's natro version of my motor making more power than i am currently.

Ive owned both....and I think I know by now...which one I prefer and which one does what.
My statement was its much easier to get 300kw AND BE RELIABLE, KEY WORD, RELIABLE , out of the 2L motor....
As George said earlier....see how long the 1.8 lasts pushing 300kw.

This sums it up perfectly I think.

From what i understand a 7 bolt is ok at this level too (if you are special and gentle)
i thought that was the limit. 500hp unopened. Mid 11 on boltons iirc.

NAH mate stay with that 93...so can all read about the...I broke this and that threads that will come up.

In one of my threads   { http://www.4gtuner.c...ter#entry226198 } I went through the unsatisfying journey of throwing money at a 93 for my daughter.

should have just dropped a 63 in for less money and same or better power. Keep in mind the 93 isnt just a case of.... lets chuck in some forged pistons and rods....because if you are going to do it....do it all. mains studs....head studs... deck block....align bore mains as a minimum to take advantage of the ability to run more boost.  Hey if you spend enough you might even get the pin with the grenade!

BTW....im a prick or so ive been told. But welcome to this place where its called what it is,

I wouldve thought the easiest way to tell if the pistons are forged (assuming you've got the sump off) is just to check the rods. If they're stock, then the pistons are 99.9% going to be stock (what idiot would put forged pistons in a 4G93 but reuse standard rods..)

Why would  one expect that rebuilding with forged internals suddenly give a huge increase IF nothing else was changed ????

There should be a small increase depending on the condition of the motor before the rebuild.

^^ exactly forged internals only address weaknesses possibly persent in factory applications ^^ that would allow you to increase the power by other means beyond that of factory. Forged internals mean nothing if you dont have the supporting mods

I will never say this to Brian, but he was right. When I first meet him he told me to put a 63 in my gsr and be done with it. 2 years later and probably twice the price. I have forged 93 and am happy with it but will always reget not putting the 63 in.
