Hi guys,

I know this has been covered in a few posts but I'm seeing if anyone has had success fitting some of the kits available these days? I did read that a NZ company does the full 6.5 kit for our early EVO shape but I'm just looking for a wide flare kit that suits with the 2 piece design on the back to allow use of the rear doors. Not looking for that crazy JDM huge flare look just keen to pump the guards out, look more aggressive and fit some wider wheels in the process.

- Attached a photo of a similar kit fitted to a wrx

They are quite extensive flares.... Did they close out the back doors?

I'm looking at doing the same David. You can get universal bolt on flares that are carbon. I'm going to wait til I get my new wheels on then see how far I need to go if I can't just pump the guards out enough

^ the NZ company

They can do the kit parts separately, i would contact them see if they could mod them to suit a stock kit...

I've sent race pro a few emails and heard nothing. That kit replaces whole front 1/4 panels which Im not keen to also. Something like the photo of this silver EVO... I've searched everywhere and I can't seem to find a purpose built kit. Thinking I will have to modify a universal kit to suit a GSR

Might be worth grabbing some Satria Gti flares as a starting point and modding from there...? The flares are plastic rather than fiberglass at least, and may be a close enough fit for you to mod.

Flares should be pretty cheap. I have a spare front flare here you can have for the cost of postage if you want to dummy fit it?

I love this look... I'll post a few more pics of that car, it looks good from a far but attention to detail is a little off putting. I'm awaiting replays from a company in the UK & the states for universal kits. Maybe a little bit of adjustments will get the finish I'm after

Yeh they look really big on that second pic. There are carbon ones on eBay that look abit smaller. I only need an extra 10 to 15 mm on my car I could prob get away with massaging the guards to get it.

You can buy this black rubber strip from Clark rubber....maybe an option for you ^ its only about 20mm deep...I have used it on my Evo 5 to extend the side skirts and front lip...looks pretty cool.

racepro only operate part time these days, its not a full time business, I have bought some things from them

in the past but it was a mission, 1 month worth of emails and then another few months to get the stuff

I then tried some like these with not much luck getting them to sit right
