Hey guys,

I purchased this flywheel from a seller on eBay who told me it was for a 4WD- after I went twin plate I sold this to another Forum Member who found out that this is actually to suit a FWD ring gear. I am willing to take a big hit on this so if anyone is interested please send me a PMIt's still brand new and in the box

Looking for $180 delivered

dre

I think I already know the answer to this, but I don't suppose this would be compatible with a FWD 4g93 box?

How many teeth are on the flywheel dre?

There is 2 6 bolt fwd flywheels. A small and a large. The small is same size as a awd, the other is bigger and fits a fwd turbo gearbox (and sonata gearbox)

Vin, If its a small, it should fit the fwd 93 box. Pull the starter and count the teeth .

I don't think an AWD flywheel fits the FWD box though, so even if it fits GSR box I think it'll be too big for what I need...

Part numbers on the Fidanza website also indicate that the 2.0L is different.

I think the match for my car would be Mirage 1.8L...

The duams of the fwd and awd 93 flys are the same size the issue is in how far outthe pressure plate sits that it contacts the bell housing

yes it's me KHUBNER

Its a 6 bolt vin, your 93 is a 7 bolt. The 2.0 7 bolt flywheel has its dowel hole at a different radius to the 93. Also i think the bolts are a different diameter.

I was thinking you were looking for a flywheel for a vr4 block in front of your gearbox

I didn't even get think to check again Jack. I did so much research for the FWD 63t conversion but it's all gone out the window since doing the 93t build.

Thought it was worth asking the gurus the question though.

Part number is 161651 which seems to be for a 2.4L according to the screenshot above

110 spline count. Aren't the ring gears interchangeable?

Ring gears should be interchangeable. They can be on the factory ones.

I dont think so. The wheel is overall a bigger diameter.
Iirc the awd (and the nt fwd) have 106 teeth and those ring gears are interchangeable.
but what you have is a larger 110 tooth wheel. This will suit a cb gsr turbo fwd mostly, will also go on a sonata.

There was a guy a couple of months ago on here, was chasing this exact flywheel for a vr4 cb gsr fwd.
Was it speedy? Or a mate of his. He might be interested. It was the last item in his conversion. The starter was spinning and not getting the flywheel. He was asking about different starter pinion gears, but it was a wrong flywheel im sure.

was there a vr4 bodied car that had a turbo and fwd? Flywheel should be the one to fit that also.

Just to clarify...I meant ring gears from same diameter could be interchanged......shoulf of been more specific at 551am!

In answer to my brother Michael's post above. Screw you, where would you be without my pics and measurements over the years!!!

[Composure]

Dre, yours is best suited for a 2.4L 4G64 FWD. Like an early 6-bolt 4G64 Nimbus or a Hyundai Sonata or something that used a 6-bolt 4G64 FWD setup.

A normal FWD Lancer CC flywheel is only 268mm in diameter and the bellhousing is only 275mm in diameter.

Yours is the Eclipse FWD 4G64 flywheel that has a diameter of 285mm and as you can see in pics and descriptions, its too big for a CC Lancer FWD or AWD bellhousing :(

Note: A 7-bolt flywheel is shown here but its the same diameter of a 6-bolt.
