Check fuses, wiring and plugs that are part of central locking....that would be most obvious place to begin I think.

EVO 1's have a different setup on the remote entry setup.. The modual is in the drivers door from what I'm told... The button is also on the key head not a seperate fob like the E3.. The setup procedure may be the same though, Not sure !!

Does the central locking work if you use the key in the drivers door ??
Does it work if you push the button down or lift it up ?
Have you tried both front doors ??

Not sure if the evo 1's Central locking works from both front doors but have you tried both to see if it that does anything ? I know a gsr's Central locking works from both front doors but an E3's Central locking only works from the drivers!

Just throwing out some ideas.

If it doesn't work at all then as EVO-GSR said start at the relay and fuse and work back from there. It's really a simple setup so shouldn't be to hard to work out...

The central locking on a evo 1 will work from the drivers door, with either the key or the button, mine does. The module is in the drivers door.

I need a new key does anyone know the part number for and new key?

Are there any ausie keys that are the same?

How much are they?

any help with this would be great.

Key or remote? If it's the key you want just get a gsr vin and order from Mitsubishi, if it's the remote The OEM PART NUMBER for the FOB Is MB942997. amayama Says $144aus

The OEM PART NUMBER for the Antenna is MR141205. amayama Says $63aus quoted from GSR94T's other post.

Those part numbers and prices I quoted in the other thread are for Evo 3 parts !!!

Evo 1 parts are completely different.

Here's a pic of an Evo 1 key which has the remote built into it.
image.jpg

Evo 3's use a key just like a GSR and have a seperate FOB for the remote.
The FOB is the one with the Grey and Red button.

I'm pretty sure TR, TS Magna Elites use a key like the Evo 1 uses. So maybe look down that path !!

WHile the central locking on mine works, the key rubber on my remote is gone on my evo 1- I gather the rubber is not replaceable.

Is the Evo1 reprogramming likely to be similar in your opinion?  Maybe with the infra red (??) requirement with the key needing to be near the handle, I can do the reprogramming through the door still (obviously with the antenna module set to "set" instead of fix.

If the receiver has the, Set - Fix - Set switch on it then I assume it will be the same procedure to setup the new key.....

I've never done an E1 so can't be sure... Maybe have a look at the receiver in the drivers door and see if the switch is there...

If you can grab a pic of it and post it up that would be great....

All over ebay are replacement buttons for remotes. Surely one will fit. Cut and shut to suit..

Hey guys , I'm having same problem.. my central locking works just not the remote, question is, how does this sensor in the door work, it does have three settings set 1, fix, and set 2 ..?? I have a new battery in the remote key and light comes on when I press it, so I'm sure it has to be this sensor.. all and any help appreciated... cheers..
