Now i always wanted to do this conversion so i thought never too late.
Currently looking for a vr4 engine, loom and ecu to do the swap but as you can imagine f!@$IN hard to come by these days.
Got this for 1300 with 2 months rego it manual and had the 2.4 in it.
Plans are to have a 4g63t with all the engine and components painted matt black. See if i can trick the fuzz☺

Love your style.
I told my Mrs that I wanted to do this and she asked me why I love ugly cars. Lol
Is it a 6bolt or 7bolt engine?

Torque monster! Would be well quick enough to be interesting.....As in other post. Check if evo exhaust manifold goes on. If so, bang a turbo on the 2.4 na, say a 14g or so, give it 6 or so psi and a late evo ecu.

keep your 2.4 ffs.

This could be dangerous! I can already hear the misses, YOU ALREADY HAVE THE VR4 YOU DONT NEED A TURBO MOTOR!
Thoughts Jack?

+1 for keeping the 2.4, the price of a 2.0L is starting to get a bit high, factor in parts on top and I reckon ya mrs might start clicking on, lol

Mmmm 2.0 or 2.4 im just torn atm
As for box. Ive got a evo 3 empty box that had the par dog box internals in, as they run the mount off the box i had to swap all that into a gvr4 box because they mount to the motor. The nimbus mounts to the box also and ive got a 3.9 gear set from a gvr4 and also can get a another gvr4 gearbox thats 3.5 so maybe if possible sort out a 4wd evo box with vr4 internals to fwd if there is such a way given all the viscous coupling bullshit. Im such a noob on the gearbox front sorry guys.

Just do plenty of research before buying, goes without saying but 2.4s have some good combos worth a thought or 2
How good is a new project though!

compression test your engine, if its good, plastigage the bottom end and bang a turbo on it and start beating on it.
it should have a big fwd gearbox as its a big car. Only way to check (that i know) is to count the flywheel teeth. The big box will take a low psi turbo for a bit....longer than the small box.
evooox probably will know from the gearbox number.
i only have a 6bolt sohc head so im not sure if the dohc exhaust fits the sohc on a 7 bolt. There is a bit of info to say it does.....

Im probably stating the obvious here, but wouldn't alot of the RVR drivetrain and egine be nearly a straight swap?
