For ya first time wiring, just go behind the centre console, use the accessory wire from the ciggy lighter and wire the illumination to the light bulb
ring terminal on the earth wire an attach to the body.

Cheers boss gonna give that a go, sounds a lot simpler from a novice perspective.

As ya knowledge an skill grows so will the quality an detail of your installs, my first install was done as above, now everything takes power (switched and constant) from the factory fuse box on their own fuses,

Kind of what I want to end up knowing, want to be an all rounder so I can continue to build my own cars, not have a workshop building them

Centre console is apart, power wire for cigarette is blue so obv that will be my power, pretty sure green with white stripe is ground? And black negative?

Anyway here's my diagram for wiring, instead of using yellow for headlight switch can I just have that on ignition aswell to have it illuminated whenever car is on? Cheersimage.jpg image.jpg

Didn't happen to see this little bugger at the bottom. This test light only beeps and lights up when it feels like it ( brand new ) doing my freakin head in. Went ahead and wired red, white & yellow together ( 12v+ ) now when this light works I'll what this bottom black clip is. Not too long now hopefully. However still have to run boost line through fire wall etc 🔫🔫

Was just double checking couldn't find the comment was rushing

The white plug is power to the lighter as far as I know.
The green wire and black wire are the illumination wires. There is a globe in that black holder that they attach to.
Those are the wires you should be using. For illumination and ground.

Test light ground (alligator clip) might not be getting a strong connection, anyway,
blue wire will be your switched/ accessory
green with white stripe- illumination
black- earth but you can use any screw into the main brackets? Whatevers easiest for you,
constant power you could splice into the stereo, good chance it'll be labelled,
and firewall, go through where the speedo cable runs (rubber grommet with a thick cable close to brake booster)
You'll get there man

Whiteknight- solder an insulation tape is better than just twist an tape, especially when its masking tape, lol

So ran everything through firewall & wiring through dash cluster to middle of dash, all wired in blah blah.. But couldn't get the gauge to work. Had no signal, no vacuum, NOTHING! Pretty pissed, ran the signal box to nearly every vac hose in the bay trying to troubleshoot but nothing. My guess it's just the cheap crappy gauge ( only bought it because I didn't want to pay $20 shipping for a garret gauge... We all know the saying.

Poor man pays twice.

Sounds dumb but check the wires are in the plug in the correct order, I bought a set of those shitty deli copies and when I wired them up 1 didn't work, I checked the wiring and the power wires on one of the plugs were reversed :/

Lol, urgent potato camera....
For some reason I can't upload pics from my phone, however.
The boost control solenoid is below battery and towards the radiator. 2 lines going to, can't miss it.
I "teed" my boost line (in reference to your photo) above the oil filler and off the intake plenum.
If you get lost, PM me your mobile number and I will MMS you a pic of mine if you want.
