An 2.4's, but to build a 6 bolt forged an stuff then a sonata 6 bolt is all good but to do it in vr4 spec would cost maybe 1500 bux less than supplying forged rods an pistons, dont imagine sumps would be too abundant either??? Maybe they are

as ya got the 6 bolt already speedy, use it! They've always had the better rep and are getting even harder to get but as Shane mentioned the box is the questionable bit, its why my alternate engine/ driveline build aim is 270-280kw

Even with "only" 280kw atw I'd still be cautious about the gearbox Jamie!

Didnt say only... lol, but with a low torque sort of tune and driven right, I would of thought 270-280 would of been ok for 3-5 years, what would you give as a limit?

And I had/ have a few goodies for my driveline just need the gearset (and someone to buy a kidney so I can pay for it) to complete the package

its the heat as tim said that kills the boxes, thats why they seem to be ok in cars with big power that only drag race,a 280-300+kw on the track doing 2-3+ laps wont last long (as i also found out lol)

I've installed a Setrab oil cooler and have just purchased a Bosch oil pump to plumb into my gearbox.  The pump will be triggered by the dash when a preset temp from the gearbox temp sensor is reached.
