Hey mate, yup Aldo special converter. However Aldo..I can't get more than 1psi when stalling it up before the brakes can't hold it anymore and it moves forward hard

Aldo: At a standstill I put my left foot hard on brakes and right foot full gas, it reaches approx 4000rpm and 1psi boost then it's too much for the poor brakes to hold it any longer

Chris, Only 1psi at 4000rpm is strange. Sounds like your exh actuator isn't holding the stalled boost.
Tim doesn't have a high stall converter & I think he can only get it up to 1500rpm.
Stutter launch set at 3700rpm might get you boosting, but I think you have a wastegating prob.

Chris,
Ignition cut stutter box will help you build boost as Aldo mentioned.
Use add a vacuum pump in to help the brakes.
Do you have any way that you can tetard timing on stall up? This will drop torque stopping you from pushing through the brakes and will be kinder on the auto too.

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.

Update: so it seems I wasn't pushing the brakes hard enough haha. So now it can wheelspin off the line if I want it to. Still trying to work out the amount of stalling up to launch well, only had a total of 8 runs at the drag strip in the GSR so far. Best time so far is a 1.7 60ft, 111mph/6.7 half track for a 10.25@139mph. Thanks to Don who hooked up overdrive wiring to a switch for me. Standard overdrive survived 4 full power runs so far! 470hp@wheels.

Is it getting more than 1psi now?

See that too- 1/10 off the 60' is 2/10 off the et.

another 10th off the 60' is going to be real close to a flat 10.

Chris stand on the brakes, 80% to 3.2K, 90% to 3.8K, brake off & hit 100%
Practice doing that as quick as you can. Stalling time creates heat
Try shifting
1st to 2nd @ 7.5K = 4.2K
2nd to 3rd @ 7K = 4.7K
3rd to 4th @ 7K = 5.2K
Rear springs STIFF & std height
Front springs 30mm lowered
Try 34psi front & 32psi rears because your front end is heavier
6.7K in 4th hey. Few more revs for high 9s
DON'T pull 2nd with 4th left on, unless you wanna head butt your window

If you leave 4th on & WOT 2nd into 3rd, it will go 2nd to 4th. Prob is the 2nd

band will release when leaving 2nd & then it has to reclamp for 4th gear.

The time delay will cause your Poor 4th gear clutches to slip & fry. So your

engine will over rev during the slip delay. Turn the power supply off for 4th

unless you need it. I'm not a fan of external power feed.
With 12V ext powering you will kill your 4th clutches & plates if you forget ;-((
An RVR TCU RULES. Get one & wiring & the man/auto switch
You need your own thread btw. This is Don's thread ;-)

Hey yeh can get 5-7psi easy now. But then just wheelspins because everything is open centre at the moment, running on federal RSR tyres. Sorry Aldo, when we swapped internals over we didn't swap the locked centre bits over. Should have in hindsight.
I did manage a 1.56 60ft on one run but hit rev limiter hard and then it skated through 2nd.

Chris you can change the centre diff with it in the car. Pop the TC off, put a 6-7" 1/4 extention
arm through the centre of the large primary gear & wack it with a hammer. The output shaft will
pop out. Screw a 12mm bolt into the centre diff & put a vice grip on it & pull the centre out.

Is it an RVR trait that they torque steer very hard? It's very scary and if not careful could cause a crash :/

Chris RVR engine & gearbox top mounts flog out causing bad torque steer.

As well as front end lifting causes steering to vary.

Thanks Aldo, exactly what dons rvr does. That's why we only tried running it once down the 1/4 on Saturday once and gave up. Needs more stability otherwise it's scary as.
It felt very fast on boost and would have ran well.
