Yea it is
I'm happy to be convinced otherwise but given I get
CC88YY
1993 WHITE MITSUBISHI LANCER SEDAN
VIN/Chassis: ********4151
from "http://www.service.n...istory-vehicle"
and given that EV03 production run was (if Wikipedia is to be believed):
Production February 1995 – August 1996
I am not so sure!
In fact I would hazard a guess its a GSR that has been converted...
Looks really nice though.

93 - EVO 3 !! Not possible...
No yellow personal import plate and registered in NSW !! Not possible..
Rear aerial !! Maybe genuine...
Looks to have strut tower bracing !! Maybe genuine..
Two compliance plates on firewall !! Not genuine.
Good old NSW bang up on a genuine EVO using cc lancer numbers and compliance plates. !! Big chance..
But as Dave said. Looks nice.

Yeah I think you'll find it was a genuine evo maybe even a 95 model (so EVO3) that now has standard lancer numbers and compliance plates from a 93 model gl or glxi and is rego'd as such...
Check your NSW Rego papers. It will confirm this. And as Dave showed above, going by the rego CC88YY it listed as being a white 93 model lancer sedan.
So as I said above, I'm fairly sure it's had a number job done on it (bang up) here in NSW... you see quite a few of them done like this here.
IMO, this is one of the most stupid things people have done to these cars. Normally people bang up cars to either make a lower spec car that is not as rare more valuable and rare or to make a stolen car "legit". In this case it makes a quite valuable car(even if it can't be rego'd) less valuable and also makes it not legit at all !!

^yeah, from their own anti hoon laws... nice one dick heads
Ruthless ol Dre, haha, hope you didnt pay too much man, I saw the interior, lack of import plates and 6 bolt as a bad sign and stopped looking, was hoping to be wrong, shits me how theres the few drop kicks mocking them up and duping the unwary into a 'bargain buy' if I was new to the earlier models and was presented with something like departd's car, and some pointing out of 'what makes it genuine" I probably would have jumped on it seeing as the other e3's are getting around the 18-20k mark,
How come ya selling up so quickly/ soon?
Regardless man, I hope it works out all good

I think if this is a genuine Evo that has had lower spec vins and plates put on I'd still rather this than a Evo converted gsr, I would know it's an Evo, and cheaper than trying to get a yellow plate, I guess the only downside is in the event of an accident or theft you'd only be insured for a base model lancer with some mods lol and re sale value, but personally if I scored a genuine Evo I wouldn't be re selling it

And that 500kw engine package, if he includes that for a good price you can fit that and have a beast of a car and then sell the one you pulled out and make a few bucks back on it.

I think your missing the point that swapping vin plates is illegal. Yes it is a genuine evo but pointless as the only way of getting it registered is illegal. As for the 500kw engine package lol have a look at the condition of it there is no way I'd trust that to make anywhere near 500kw or be reliable
