Okay guys,

finally got around to replacing the crank shaft and all that and shes running like a dream ( at first )

after she primes she starts and idles fantastic , very responsive etc

when she gets to the operating temp, if i drive upto the lights, drop out of gear and the idle drops off and hunts for about 5 seconds then dies if it dont give it juice, getting real tired of hovering the accelerator at the lights and even more frustrating when she stalls.

Not sure if its the ISC or maybe a setting inside the haltech e8.

Any advice is appriciated

Might want to read VFAQ.com. Answers all this and more.

being an aftermarket ecu it could be one of to things TPS miss adjusted go into the software and hit calibrate to recallibrate ecu to tps
if yours is a 3 wire all g if 4 wire ensure tps base setting is as close to 1kohm at closed as possible.

2 isc base value too low again go into ecu software and increase isc base % a few points also perhaps increase start % a fw points too

the isc start % is how much duty the isc has after a throttle condition this is what catches the engine on deceleration and stops it stalling
the ISC base % is the minimum duty the isc will have at idle mine is around 5% you want this value to be a few points under when the car needs to maintain it's set base idle value usually 850RPM +- 50rpm mines set to around 900.

there are both hot and cold values for both the base idle and start setting for the ISC

you want enough start duty so that the engine doesn't dip below idle threshold after a throttle input and a base duty low enough that the ecu can adjust up and down to controll the idle but not 0% if you can't find a vlue the ecu can use to control idle adjust the BISS until it does

for the casuals if you have a factory ecu and are experiencing hunting or stalling check the ISC sticky AND NEVER TOUCH YOUR BASE IDLE SCREW!

Semi hijacking here, but its idle related.
'95 GSR, Evo VII ECU. Any idea why when I touch the throttle at idle, the RPM's jump up to about 2000rpm for a few seconds, before falling back down to idle.
Idle is also high, jumps up a few hundred with aircon, but hot idle is like 1200rpm.

Im guessing its time to replace the ISC? All coils measure 30 Ohms, but it has a hell of a lot of rotational play

idle always goes up with ac. as explained above when you touch the throttle the ics opens up so that it can catch the engine after you slam shut the throttle similar could be happening here

Yes of course. But whether the AC is off or not, the throttle shouldnt hang at 2000rpm for any extended length of time. It's definitely not normal behaviour :/

Defiantly 4 wire. Wonder if it's the adjustment or the reading.. Don't have my old laptop to plug into the halts have to check and calibrate
