You guys make me laugh about cleaning gear boxes and blue gunk. You don't know anything until you have to strip a box and find that nasty blue goblin blood aka Redline Shockproof. I reckon I'll shoot the next chump I come across using this stuff. It literally takes hours to wash all this centrifuged plastic material out of small oil galleries etc. Very nasty job !

Right guys. Got a new gearbox from the wizard of all gsr. Now im getting the gearbox in......From the floor.... i have it up and aligned but it wont bundge in. Feels like the gearbox spindle is not aligned into the engine. I have tried moving the spindle by gears and trying again. But no joy. The gearbox fits flush as i move it around but feels like its pivoting on the gear spindle. And wont slide in ...... am i missing something. (Yes i know an engine hoist but dont have one avaiable)

how close is it sitting?  The shaft only engages to the clutch...no spigot bearing.

did you clean and lube the input shaft? Just a tiny amount of grease. {a thin coating other wise it can fling off onto the clutch surfaces and cause slipping.} will help the shaft pass through the clutch without binding. Has the clutch been off the flywheel? if so is it correctly aligned as misalingment can cause the issue you are experiencing.

some times the bolck dowels get stuck in the alloy housing of the box...if there is one in the block...and one in the box. It can cause what you are experiencing

Clutch was not touched. Its a few mm out but pivits around the center... so i could do up a bolt one side but the other is 2cm out. Ill pull it back slightly and have a look. I didnt put grease on as i didnt want to put on to much haha. I will try again tomorrow morning with the grease and make sure its all still sitting pretty.

It's one of those things where a lot of expletives are used. Try doing a twin plate on floor stands

Just to add ( something else useful )

Do you have a clutch alignment tool to eliminate the clutch not being aligned properly as the issue?
