Looks like you'll need an evo 3 transfer case and evo 1-3 rear diff, as you have an evo 3 box.

Any EVO 1-3, 3.909 rear diff ratio centre (the entire guts inside the diff housing including crown and pinion) will be fine to put into your GSR diff housing if converting it to an EVO 3 drivetrain. You can still keep your existing GSR rear axles. Just don't get the EVO 1 GSR rear viscous LSD diff unless you get it complete with the cv cups and axles.
To save the hassle of swapping guts over and setting up tooth engagement and backlash professionally, you might be able to swap your GSR rear diff + $$$ for an EVO rear diff with an LSD in this forum as many guys with EVO's want to get rid of the 3.909 RDR and convert to GSR 3.545 RDR for lower rpm's at higher speeds on their street cars, or for longer legs in each gear on the track.
NOTE: The EVO owner will be losing his rear LSD in the swap. Although the LSD can take either the GSR or EVO crownwheel bolted onto it. It depends who wants the LSD.
EBay Seller by the name of EC_JDM based in Newcastle might be a good person to ask for an EVO rear diff.

Shipping will be extreme to Malta. You might be better off scouring Yahoo and get it direct from Japan?

Yes, but here is the actual breakdown of the tooth counts and ratios
EVO II-III CE9A:
NOTE: EVO III has slightly different transfer case and front diff ratio than EVO II TRANSMISSION
GEAR RATIOS INPUT/INTERMEDIATE :
1st - 12/33 = 2.750
2nd – 19/32 = 1.684
3rd - 25/29 = 1.160
4th - 29/25 = 0.862
5th - 34/21 = 0.617
Reverse – 3.156
GEARBOX CODES EVO II
WPGE-GSR no LSD
WPWE-GSR with viscous front LSD
WPYE-RS no LSD
WPFE-RS with viscous front LSD
selector ring 92.9 input 97.2 int
EVO II Front Diff Crownwheel = 64 teeth
EVO II output shaft = 15 teeth
EVO II Front Diff Ratio = 64/15 = 4.266
EVO II Transfer case ratio (TR) = 24/22 = 1.09
Rear diff ratio (RDR) = 3.909 (43/11)
RDR x TR 1.090 (24/22) = 4.264 combined rear final drive
Total Final Drive (TFD) = 5.443
Primary ratio is 37/29 = 1.2758 (Centre diff and 3rd Intermediate)
Secondary ratio is 64/15 = 4.2666 (EVO I-II)
GEARBOX CODES EVO III
UPGE-GSR no LSD
UPWE-GSR with viscous front LSD
UPYE-RS no LSD
UPFE-RS with viscous front LSD
selector ring 92.9 input 97.2 int
EVO III Front Diff Crownwheel = 63 teeth
EVO III output shaft = 15 teeth
EVO III Front Diff Ratio = 63/15 = 4.200
EVO III Transfer case ratio (TR) = 29/27 = 1.074
Rear diff ratio (RDR) = 3.909 (43/11)
RDR x TR = 4.199 combined rear final drive.
Total Final Drive (TFD) = 5.358
Primary ratio is 37/29 = 1.2758 (Centre diff and 3rd Intermediate)
Secondary ratio is 63/15 = 4.200
NOTE: When all the ratios have been finalised, both the EVO II and EVO III use the 3.909 ratio Rear Diff.
