Had a great day at Bryant Park yesterday with the Gippsland Car Club (fantastic bunch of people!)

 

Made it through scrutineering after some last minute fix-ups/mods the night before, threw on some compulsory club stickers and was 3rd out on the circuit for the start of the day!

 

"The StormTrooper" powered away reliably all day, I got 5x runs on the circuit and never got out of 2nd gear - the little DOHC1.6T just pulled all the way to 7600rpm without complaint!

 

It has enough torque to easily fry the tyres in 1st and into 2nd gear and responds really sharply to the throttle.  I like it!!

 

Best time for the day was 81seconds, which put me towards the bottom of the pack, but I was able to bring it home in one piece and still had fun, so that's the main priority at this stage.  It was strange piloting a FWD again too - it handles very very differently to the coupe.

Me too mate!  I'm pushing to get the Coupe up and running by then, but if I can't - then I'll take The StormTrooper out for a run.

Yeah he went pretty well from what I remember - was pushing it around a lot faster than I was!!
