Good day guys so have purchased a 4g93t motor out of 1993 cc lancer gsr

So far have orderd .
Argo forged rods 21mm small end
Arospeed adjustable cam gears
Clear cam cover

Yet to get
arp head studs
Mls headgasket and new seals
Acl racing crank bearings
Piston wise not sure as of yet thinking a 9.0.1 compression
Will be rebored to 82.5mm
Looking at a jasma 270in and 260 exhaust cams 10mm lift in and out
Looking at supertec 1mm oversized valves and have a gasflowed head and 3 angle valve cut
Would love a pressision 6262 turbo but think it may be a tad laggy maybe a twinscroll might be on the plate? Im a boilermaker and can make a manifold no worries

Goals are about 450-500whp
Atm the turbo is a gt2871 positive boost at 2000rpm fullboost at 3800rpm but thats on a standard 4g93p motor i have in the car any help would be appreciated
Running an evo 3 ecu aswell so might need to remap it some how not sure if ecmlink will work on the protons obd1.5 port and will be using 660cc bosh injectors with the 609 maf im currently running or is there a better option

You should make it with those mods, my engine is 40thou oversized CP pistons. Kelford 260 cams (from memory that's the size) adjustable cam gears, oversized valves, beehive springs, ported and port matched head, aftermarket intake manifold with 6boost exhaust manifold, garrett 3037s turbo with sard 800 injectors. Still only using BP 98, made 341kw at the wheels. Also just using an ecm link.

Thanks man its a motor im building on a stand for my satria apparently 10mm highlift cam is suitable with standard valve springs but im unsure on what brand to go with might go with supertec valve and spring combo how does the gt30put up when do you come on fullboost? Howmuch boost are you running and how does the cam affect the turbo the one im looking at is a 270• intake 10mm lift and 260•exhaust 10mm lift too not sure howmuch different my setup will be from yours but seems like simular numbers im chassing

I'm using the 1mm oversized duratech valves in mine, can't say I've had any problems with them as I haven't done many kms on them. I'm running 25psi boost which isn't a great deal but it's what was recommended for the efficiency of the turbo. I can't remember the lift on the cams as it's been so long. Kelford cams had all the info on the engine spec and made them to suit.

Wait which one is kyle haha yeah well im looking for everything to work together are there any dramas i may encounter? What pistons are the go with these that every ine has had good results with wondering if i could go b18 forged pistons just not sure if it will need valve cut outs and what the compression would be with them

what has my results which by the way I'm happy with for what i use the car for got to do with the kind of bearing available.

when my engine was assembled the engine builder could not get ACL bearings i wanted acl they wanted to use acl but there was none and so kings were used there haven't been any issues with them for me. bearing were about the only thing my builder supplied for the build.

for those interested here the part numbers for acl race series 4g93t

Conrod Bearing Set   4B8036H STD, .25 Main Bearing Set   5M8037H STD, .25 Thrustwasher Set   1T8037 STD

b18 pistons have a different compression height (where the wrist pin sits in relation to the piston top) if i remember correctly theire is closer to the piston top and they use a longer rod if used in a 93 the piston wont travel all the way to the top of the bore resulting in a lower compression ratio then that advertised (even though you won't be able to used advertised compression ratios anyway)

i don't think anyone here would be against me saying CP pistons

Yeah okay no worries might look at that then im hoping to make ecm link work with this whole setup

What cams work well in these not sure if im hoing to stick with the gt2871 or go with something else im looking at achieving around 450-500 wheel hp with decent response have any one had good results with 270 cams? 10mm lift shouldnt be a problem surely?

Now your talking turbo you in voodoo land for me.

To my haters the only thing i havnt done that everyone else has is cams cam wheels and a 4g93t head i went with a 4g92 head thats my only difference from any other 4g93t build. Once i can get the larger turbo gt3076 if i still cant pull power out of this build i'll be going to a 4g93t head. The power potential is there ive built to have it right now im limited i know this you dont need to jump down my throat all the time.

I have recently rebuilt my 93 but only went .5 oversized with wiseco pistons and spool rods, acl bearings, arp studs but standard headgasket. Still on the stand at work but putting it in later this week. Running it on an evo 7 ecu with an external gate setup. Thats just my input on what i have used. Will do a post on it when its all done and see what kind of power it makes.

Be careful with cam selection on the 1.8 especially with a big turbo.

Might be ok, don't expect anywhere near the responsiveness of the n/a motor though. It'll be a completely different beast.
