Turbo head has bigger ports, so if you're looking to run cams you're better off with the turbo head to make use of the flow. However on such a small engine i found that the big cams gave drag car power delivery. I.e. Nothing and then a heap of power all at once.
The 63 is much better in my opinion in that you already have the torque of a 2L so don't feel the negative effects of the cams.

They'd probably be fine with a gt30 because it'll be a laggy setup anyway.

Still using the stock cams and just a tdo5 18g turbo to see what it will make. Might go to a tdo6 20g and upgrade the cams if i need more. Going to run dual tunes so will get a set of 1000cc injectors for the e85. Evo 7 ecu is already in running the stock engine atm and there is already a noticable difference. All ready for the new engine and tune

What did you do to run an evo 7 ecu? Wiring changes etc? What maf are you using

Easiest way is to do it with 560cc inj and the 399 maf, at least to know it fires up and runs sweet, I'll let Mike answer what wire changes

Jamie actually helped with alot my wiring questions but once you get your head around it its actually quite simple. There is only really 6 or 7 wires that need to be changed around to suit the 4 connector setup for the e7 ecu instead of the 3 connectors for the e3/gsr ecu. Most of the pin positions are the same. And as he said just using all the appropriate things (399 maf and 560cc injectors) to assure it will run sweet.

Fairly sure the evo 3 ecu plugs directly into the gsr loom as they both run the 3 plug harness. The reason i went the e7 ecu is that its easily tunable and it can run dual tunes. And it was cheap haha

Exactly ^ you cant tune an e3cecu unless you have ECMlink...and the price of that new is dearer than e6/7 ecu and a MAF and injectors...if you know where to look!

Save money by not getting oversize valves and ported head and use it on a good ecu.
Any turbo to make 450-500 on a 4g93 is going to be super lazy. Id go pistons, rods, mls headgasket, 60mm evo throttle body, factory head with a set of 272 cams, big injectors and e85, maybe a gtx2971 with a good Ecu. Don't waste your time on adjustable cam gears unless you plan on spending extra $$ to get the cams setup on the dyno.

Is the evo 3 throttle body a direct fit onto the gsr intake manifold? And is there much size difference?

yes it bolts straight on, yes there is a size difference you'll want to port the 4g93 intake throttle opening for best results

Vr4, evo 123 and magna are all 60mm that will work fine. You just need to port the manifold to suit the throttle bodys extra few mms. Anything bigger is a waste on a std manifold, iv had evos making 480kw+ on factory 60mm throttlebodys.
