Most definitely valve springs. The standard valves will flow enough for 400-450hp atw. Though if it's apart u may as well put new standard sized valves in.
GSR Lancer- JE-73-VO, 11.701@125mph, 1.79 60" and getting faster. No:3 conrod now orbiting the moon.

would probably get the kelford springs with the cam...but definite requirement to change springs with most cams unless you use the BC 272. they dont have as much valve lift as most other cams

Very similar to my old setup. 450hp is very achievable.

2.3 with 272 and gt30r. Made 330kw at the wheels on 98ron fuel. 25psi. Go the springs and retainers. Not expensive anyway. Plus cam gears and timing belt while your at it. Plus.......... Lol

You wouldnt need to stroke it to make that power. I've done it with the 2L and GTX3076R, Kelford TX272's and 1200cc injectors (could have done it with 1000cc but didnt have an on hand at the time) and made 450hp atw at 28psi on 98 octane fuel. No E85 or stroker needed, so there's room for improvement. Yes, definitely get the valve springs with high lift cams, actually get them anyway. Our cars are 20+ years old and the springs are tired and less llikely to float when you start putting the boost and rpm in it.

See my signature the last time I touched my car a couple years ago.

AWD. 2 Litre. GTX3076R 0.82.
330kw atw @ 28psi 98 pump fuel.

372kw atw @ 28psi E85 Flexfuel.
