VIN(Chassis) - 6U9000(CT9A0202775)

It's a JDM EVO 8 GSR. Any info regarding options, km's etc. is much appreciated. I've been scouring the internet and smashing the search function as i've come across some info regarding what 0202 and 775 represent before. I just can't find it again.

Also the model number is GH-CT9A-SJGF2. From my trawling of this site and many others over the last few days since i drove the car i've got all the letters figured out except J. Also according to info found on this website the 2 is for TME's only. Bit confused on this.

Finally upgrading from the cordia. Can't wait.

Cheers!

regarding model codes I've listed the common ones available in Australia

CD9A000 = Evo 1

CE9A000 = Evo 2

CE9A010 = Evo 3

CN9A000 = Evo 4

CP9A000 = Evo 5

CP9A010 = Evo 6

CP9A020 = Evo 6 TME

CT9A000 = Evo 7

CT9A010 = Evo 7 GT-A

CT9A020 = Evo 8

CT9A030 = Evo 8 MR
CT9A4U0 = Evo 8 (ADM)
CT9A6U0 = Evo 9 (ADM)

2775 is the number of the car on production line

the 4 letters SJGF,SNDF,SNGF etc determine if it's a GSR or RS

SNGF = 5 Speed GSR
SJGF = 6 Speed GSR
SNGFR = 5 Speed RS2
SNDF = 5 Speed RS
SJDF = 6 Speed RS
SYGF = Auto

KM verification needs to be done in Japan, most cars won't have books and you can tell if the cars wear and tear matches the km after you've seen a few.

Thanks !Jonzap!, exactly the info i was after. It's probable been posted before but i just couldn't find it. This car has a 5 speed so it's been tinkered with by somebody. That's a good thing though. The owner has all the dereg papers from Japan so i'll have a closer look at the km's when i have another look at the car.

leadfoot - cheers man i didn't think of that. I was being a bit optimistic anyway with info about km's being available.

CAPS should be able to tell me the colour, drivetrain info and any options that were installed before it left the factory though right? I tried using that Russian site with translator on but no info came up. Maybe i'll try it with explorer instead of firefox in case it's a browser issue.

Colour is scotia white (W83B) and it was built with a 6 speed manual. Options are (OYR), whatever that means and interior spec is (32X) whatever that means. Your code SJGF2 should read SJGFZ with the Z meaning AWD.

Your a legend mate, thanks! I probably should have looked at the model number a bit closer. It's actually a Z not a 2. I gotta start getting some more sleep ^_^

At least i know it's got it's original colour and someone's done me the favour of attaching a 5 speed to it. Thanks for all the replies.

Came across this pdf on evo trans/diffs trying to find out what OYR means. Sorry if it's been posted before but looks like it's got some useful info.

Here you go.... all the stock specs, codes and options for that "EXACT" chassis number when it was manufactured.

Also a close-up shot in better quality. So yeah definitely a CT9A model with classification SJGFZ (you had the number 2 written in your original post instead of the letter Z), plus all the options as in the 'half' pic close up with a manufacturing date, interior, exterior codes, and OYR options. When you really get down into using Mitsubishi ASA you can drill down on exactly what it came out with stock.

Awesome. Thanks for the replies. I'm guessing window glass privacy is Japanese for tinting :unsure:

This car seems like a goer. REVS came back squeaky clean. At this point i can't see any reason not to buy it.

It's got an evo 9 diffuser, VG, carbon lips front and back, no oil leaks, can't see any rust, e-boost controller, 3" titanium exhaust, invidia dump, cop kit (can't remember the brand- had the Jap flag on each one) plus the 5 speed. The rest of the engine is stock. All fluids and timing belt done through Meek within the last year.

If it passes a comp. test it'll be all systems go. Not that i care too much. Going for a cheaper gsr instead of mr so i can throw some money at the engine. Good times ahead.
