is it possible to run only an external fuel pump.?
im staggeringly poor at the moment & i dont have the money to go out n buy another fuel pump, I do however have an external bosch pump which was connected in series ( stupidity of some ppl is amazing) with the sock pump.
i was having fueling issues and changed the setup so that my fuel return line tees in betwwen the stock pump & the bosch to give the bosch more fuel to pump!,
this has improved fuel delivery up top alot but still isnt 100%.
does anytone know if a fuel pump which is external to the tank with just a hose running into the tank will work ok?
the idea is to get rid of the stock pump all together !

stock pump -> surge tank -> external pump ->
Explain more..
thatd mean the surge tank would always have to be full and primed....
And the surge tank will have a line for
-into it From tank
-out of it for Overflow back to tank
- out of it to external pump
-into it for return line from rail.
Correct?

Correct?
... to elimate fuel surge
you have the stock pump in the fuel tank
then you have that pumping into a surge tank
then from the surge tank, you have a bosch 044 or some other similar inline/external pump going to your engine

why wont the bosch pump pull fuel out of the tank on its own ? the vr4 tanks were designed to be trown around a dirt track at 160kph they have an internal swirl pot in them...
so if the surge tank is only there as a serge tank then thats fine, but if i want to run the bosch only, external with just a line running the 30 odd cm from the pump to the bottom of the tank, will it work efficiently ?
ignoring any alternative fitments, im trying to work out if that particular setup will work...
