Can I please get some guys to post up a pic of their evo 1 keys, reason I ask is I know a few locals with E1's and I do not have the same key as the rest of them. My key is chipped almost like it has keyless entry but the key is in bad shape so even if I wanted it to it probably wouldn't work.

There must have been a button there where you can see the green circuit board, car is too early for it to be anything more advanced. More than likely to be central locking but possibly an immobiliser of somesort as mentioned above. Either way there's no saving that one. Might still be available from Mitsubishi though?

And yes...the evo 1 has keyless entry via that button on the key.
Has nothing to do with immobiliser.

Sweet so if I bought a new key would it be the same to program it as the write up on here for the evo 3 ? If so I'd buy a new key.

Hey bud,

I'm the guy that wrote the write up on the E3 remote entry module programming.... I've never seen the module in an E1 but I do know it's not the same as an E3's one.. I've read somewhere that the module is in the drivers door of an E1 but don't quote me on that !! If you find the module and it has the same sort of switch (SET-FIX-SET) on it as an E3 does then it should be the same type of process, if not then who knows !!!!

Anyone else shed some light here ??

P.s. Here's a quick link to the thread so you can see the switch I'm talking about.

Well I decided that there was no better time then the present to go looking for that module, and it is there! it was exactly where you said it would be too, If you like I can send you the pictures I took and you can add them to your thread GSR 95T.

Awesome man !! Glad I was some help.

And Yeah, what Evo-GSR said...

If you post all the findings, pix etc here to keep it all together that would be great.

I can then link to this thread for any Evo 1 owners in my thread and you could link to mine from here for any Evo 3 owners.

Sound good ??

it looks to be set up the exact same way but the module is physically different but looks like it operates the same way. it has a small piece of tape covering the switch but it is labeled the same as a Evo 2-3. I will have to wait to upload pics tomorrow as internet is barely letting me get normal messages out at the moment for some reason.

If possible, if anyone on here does in fact have an Evo 1 with key less entry can you please post a pic of what your key looks like I'd like to see what mine was supposed to look like before a dog decided it was a chew toy haha.

Key looks exactly the same as the one you have posted the pic of, except there is a small black rubber button where yours is green.
