VR4 alternator - you can get Genuine (which i prefer) for about 350 bux. Or Aftermarket (not as good) for about $90.00 from autobarn/Repco/Bursons.
Stepper Motor - I believe they are the same as Magna / GTO etc... I bought mine new (aftermarket) from Repco. From memory about $80 bux??
TPS - as above, Repco/Autobarn/Bursons would have them. I bought mine also. Can't remember price.
CAS - EVO Curved top - Can't help there.. I've got quite a few VR4 flat top ones though...
- ENGINR likes this

Hey Baz - great info mate, thanks for that. I definitely want genuine where possible, so I'll look at dropping into Repco. They often have promotional periods where they offer substantial discounts to RACV members so I'll keep an eye out for the next one and make the purchases.
These parts on the car are the original items (so they've seen 13+ years of use on my car alone!) so they're well overdue for a change.

I find CAS to be pretty reliable.
It is the TPS / Stepper and Alternator that will fail over time.
For the alternator, i find genunie is best, the voltage tends to be more consistent. I've heat sheilded mine to increase the life.
he 4g63 dump pipe location is not ideal for this. Have you relocated your alternator to the rear of the block since you done have air con? this will significantly increase life and also allow a larger dump pipe to be made...

I've relocated the alternator to the back of the block using the JayRacing kit. This was to allow a better flowing dump pipe to be made. The secondary benefits are it gets the mass of the alternator further back in the engine bay and gets it away from a major heat source!
