Got my replacement 510s in tonight. Got them serviced/flowed today and the man said they were 560s but theyre yellow jacket, not pink and well i dunno. was pretty sure they were 510s - anyone know what might be the go here?

Was a bit of a worry at first - running like a bag of dicks but seems to have come right and ECU has adjusted or something. Also decided to pull half a plug on the lancer project and keep it twin DCOE and put the fruit on the RVR cause fuck it why not. So its getting a $700 PWR cooler in on the weekend and the GT45 i have well itll eventually get in there when i decide to go full crazy...

Bought an aem wideband fail-safe with boost gauge and will be putting the Mani and turbo in on my holidays soon. Also getting a full exhaust done with wideband cause why not. New head is going on with cop kit and cooler. Box being changed again so almost another rebuild.... Should be a different car when done though

Eye on the prize alright Taz. I recall I had 4 months of near every weekend fixing something on the HSGR, been running perfectly now for 3 years. Love giving her a thrashing everytime I want instead of when it suited her.
You're getting there man.

OK who jinxed it?

Car decided to once again breakdown during some errands. Exact syptoms as before with the cam sensor, so pulled over, fixed it up again enough to get home but now it simply wont start. Not sure if cam sensor has had it again or something else has gone wrong but ive had enough. Once its back home im fast tracking its second rebuild and putting the rvr head back on and all the other things that were going to be in a month or so. See if i cant get it running again.

Need to nickname this one the grave digger...Digging me a financial grave, sending either it or me to our graves...either way, back to square one...

Probably.
I imagine it's gonna be the cam sensor. The pickup has probably slapped against it too many times and has failed or so I hope. Lucky I have a spare I can check in the morning on the way to work. If not fucks me. It'll be towed home and given a makeover in a vein attempt to appease it and get it working again.

Yep, cam sensor again, this time its properly rooted and wouldnt start the car. Put another one in i had lying around and up she fires. need to fix the issue with the pickup bolt though.

Does anyone know correct torque on said bolt? Going to the car in the morning to loctite her up again and torque it up just curious whats the max i can go without risk of binding the cam

As far as i can research, 22+- 4 nm on the cam sensor pickup bolt. with work and scheduling i wont know till wednesday night whether or not its enough to hold. Im going to the car in the morning to fix it, letting it sit for 24 hours as loctite suggests for maximum results and driving it home the following night. I am taking holidays from saturday to wednesday this week anyway, in which head will be changed anyway, but its a good place to start knowing if it indeed is good enough or i need to go more extreme if it doesnt resolve the issue..

finally got around to changing head back to RVR. reco'd head, all new gaskets, zinc plated everything that could be done like cam sensor cover, small vacuum pipes and timing backings on head, all bolts etc, sand blasted bypass and thermostat housings and painted silver. Painted rocker cover (although still not perfect, need to touch up lettering in different color)

hopefully with everything else being new or reco'd engine wise now i wont have much problems with it touch wood. The sonata head was leaking oil out of a stamp on the back of the head, had less coolant passages than RVR so was getting a little hotter and overall looked tired. Was up to 330am last night getting it all done as im now moving tomorrow and needed it done while i had a proper shed not a garage.   Just got to time it and fingers crossed it fires up perfect. Pics to come when i can get em off my phone

finally settled into new house and can be assed to put pics up. reco'd head again. Has been running sweet the last few weeks without worry. Have now developed a front cv click so gonna rebuild all 4 while im at it. Also got 4k white phillips bulbs for it. Furiously trying to chase a nimbus block to go 2.4 when i put the haltech in. Still got the PWR cooler, manifold, turbo and exhaust and wideband to put in when i get around to it. Thinking i might get some hektic intercooler spray to go with it when it goes in. Got the rear shocks and rear tail light loom of Baz so i can start converting the rear to a nimbus bar and fully functional upper lights. Coupled with the custom piping and a decent intake and cams it would almost round out the major players until i put the 75mm in way down the road. For now i just want more boost. More power.

Got around to installing the AEM wideband - just need to take it to get the 02 bung in and the failsafe programmed in. Definitely trying to go as clean/neat as possible with this car. This was as discreet as possible i could get on top of the dash with the gauge cup look i wanted. Going to be oil press and temp next to it in 2 identical cups when i get around to getting them also.

Finally got sick of looking at the AFR gauge so sent it to the exhaust shop to get put in. Idles at 14.6-14.9 and full boost 6k rpm riches out to about 10.5

Pretty good for factory ECU still.

Negotiated with my panel beater, gonna be sprayed and PDRed over christmas, then the haltech goes in.
