So pretty much seems like trying to attach rear brembos to a gsr/1-3 is more trouble then its worth. Ive researched this and seem to always come back to no abs or pain in the ass to get the sensor fitted. I know the brake bias would be affected if I run the standard rear caliper just want to know if there any other twin pot rear caliper or a larger single pot I could run or anything like that??

any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have zero issues with brake bias and I have Brembos on the front and standard Evo calipers on the rear??
Dunno where you got that idea from??

The problem isn't ABS or not. The problem is rear Brembo calipers don't have the integral parking brake as well.

Most of the U.K. guys that have swapped to front and rear Brembos, have had to run later Evo drum brakes for the parking brake as well.

It's a bit more involved than just bolting up a caliper, as right now, there's no real caliper upgrade that also incorporates the parking brake as well.

Pretty sure Jake has done rear brembos. I remember talking to him about the internal drum setup a while ago.

As I mentioned above the abs is the problem. im fully aware of the drum handbrake and I know exactly how to get that sorted hence the topic is about abs and not handbrakes.

1. You're the first person I've heard having that issue with ABS. Not to say it's not a problem, just never heard it before.
2. You also asked about other caliper options. Given that you made zero reference to handbrakes, I wasn't aware that you knew this problem, hence my reply. Now you've mentioned that you do know about the handbrake swap requirements, try K-Sport for calipers. Or indeed, any later Evo brake calipers upgrades.

Not to sound like a snob but id never use anything apart from brembo,ap racing, stoptech or alcon brakes.

if I didn't want to keep my abs system It would be fairly easy conversion but to much of a pain to mount the abs sensor.

I'm thinking of machining the abs ring onto the driveshaft cup at the diff, mouthing the abs sensors inboard, and it should be fine. May have to do some testing, as the size of the ring on the stanrdard setup is heaps bigger then the front, or later model evo rear abs rings

Buy the parts from Racefab. He makes that pieces already.

Unfortunately I haven’t driven my car with the brembo conversion however I had the same thought as you however just removed factory ABS. If the bias is a bit wrong my plan was to use EVO RS brake proportioning valve since they didnt come with ABS and will plumb in a willwood adjustable valve left over from the hydro setup if there are further issues. Only time will tell if that was a good idea or a bad idea.

I used front rings on the rear driveshafts near the diff. Works fine and easy to do.
I made brackets to hold the sensure off the diff cover bolts.
The issue you have is the ring fits in the spot you normally pry the driveshaft at to get it out of the diff. My work around is to put a T bolt hose clamp on the green part of the CV and pry from that.

I did it about 7 years ago. Don't have any pictures. I'll try and take some. Cars in storage at the moment.

Thought about using a single pot caliper just for the handbrake?
