Interested to see what you do with fuel system...I have recently done mine and would like to see alternative options.

Thanks guys, bout time I gave the nugget a power up.

I have sourced a surge tank that will sit vertical behind the rear seat.

I am most likely going to use a Turbosmart fuel reg. Would you know of what adaptor can be used to suit the factory fuel rail? They sell E4 onwards.

I found DSM sites that sell various ones, but not sure what is appropriate.

I'd like to keep the engine bay as stock looking as possible.

The factory fuel lines and fittings are very restrictive might want to get rid of them for some -6 stuff.

Stock fpr and bigger pump can sometimes cause a rich idle (idle overrun) due to the fpr being too small to release the additional volume of fuel.

That would be the only potential issue. Apart from that not being able to set the correct Base pressure if out.

I recall Evo 4 fits but may need elongation of the flange? I had a few in thr past, alternatively, you could cut you stock fpr flange and Weld a dash -6 male nipple on it ready for your fitting.

ok, finally got some stuff done ( I was injured so wiped out the second half of last year).

I'm going to see how it runs at the track and then do the injectors. Still not sold on going full-time E85.

Saw this yesterday. good to see this project is still going. I was a little confused why you couldn't run the 1000cc injectors in the factory rail though? I'm running ID 1000's in the factory GSR rail?

They are larger (I think 14mm), wasn't my first choice, but mechanic had already got some parts for me.

The 044 is bloody loud, ok with the windows up lol

14mm vs 11mm.

Alternative to changing rail is to use adaptors (factory rail needs to also be spaced up to allow for adaptor length). Or machine injectors down on a lathe from 14mm to 11mm.

Rails are cheap anyway. Upgrade for the sake of it =)

Yeah I'm running adaptors to fit the IDs

EFI Hardware is a great place to shop for E85 fuel system upgrades. You should also look at upgrading the Venturi jet pump in the factory fuel tank too.

Been running e85 for a couple years now, its good but can be abit of a pain because you have to plan to go places via a United but being that mine has retired to weekender its not too bad definately worth it for the extra gains/safety and the smell is great.

You really need a minimum of 3-4 litres capacity in a surge tank for a track car that is running E85. Our factory fuel tanks are pretty shit for track work given the venturi transfer and baffles too so the more fuel you can have in the surge the better.
