Hi All,

This thread will capture the journey of getting the once known BCNYA back into life.

I purchased the car in an in progress state.

The interior, transmission, radiator and turbo setup were the only parts used. Everything else has been parted out to other enthusiasts.

I knew one day I would like to try another form of racing so I kept the shell covered up ready for the day I decided to make something out if it.

So the plan is to use a light weight chassis that stops and turns wells. Power will not be the main focus.

Stay tuned for photos and progress pics.

Haha! With the way Barry works he'll have it done, raced, developed, re-done and racing again before you and I even get our hands dirty on our first round of updates on our cars.

Here is the car as it stands.

Rolling shell.
Original white paint.
Australia spec.
Evo 3 vents into standard steel bonnet.
Australia spec bumpers.
No glass in doors.
6 point roll cage (drag spec). Will look into cams cage.

Plans:
Stock engine and drive train to begin with.
Good suspension and brakes.

Keep it light and reliable. Crawl before running.

Will see you on the track one day Shayne!

It was quite sad to see Paul move on from this
GSR Lancer- JE-73-VO, 11.701@125mph, 1.79 60" and getting faster. No:3 conrod now orbiting the moon.

I spoke to him once when he had the car at Jambo at Willowbank one year. Bit of a rude C$NT actually.

I bought the car simply because I needed a dog box.

Engine was sold by me.. Some parts were missing on purchase from Paul but I just let it go (fuel cell as an example). The car was sold incomplete and parts attacked inside the vehicle.

The original build specs was rather basic but the time it ran was a great time for what it had.

It'll come back to life. Eta 2017 late to 2018 mid.

OK. So 2 hours have been spent on the donor. It's a bit rough but I think I can make good use out of the hardware..

Lower part of the car done (almost ready to drop the motor / trans).

Just need to disconnect the top part of the motor now...

Hopefully out by Saturday.

That stock exhaust manifold looks a little ratty.  You need a tubular ram-horn style manifold with external waste gate allowance and T3 mounting flange....... just happens I have one for sale......

This car is filthy!

Should I put it in the track car or in the 3 door lancer hatch?

It'll be out tomorrow... Nearly done with the top part of the engine. 2d2a15ee4dfb45a9f5db4c166072b9d0.jpg8e291a80a2c149e396c3bf0c5289af8e.jpg15fe836c41a55b6398df38170ae3a235.jpg

I have a GT30 turbine housing to go with the manifold.

Use the caged shell. Safety safety safety.
