Your neighbours must be thinking you're running a chop-shop or something out of your garage mate!

take note... 6am start just to work on the car.
good stuff, that's how you get sh1t done!

So..

Today was an interesting and productive day..

Up at 6, had my coffee and fruit. While the kids and wife were still asleep I managed to put in some fresh oil after the initial flush and also added some new water with another flush. 2 flushes should hopefully clear out the system. If not, I've got another bottle ready to be used...

While sorting out the GTO, I had to quickly fix the Stagea (tail gate swap out due to rust) and then pick up some parts (GTO stuff) for the car. I found a wrecker who had parts 10 years old and he just wanted them gone...

So the funny thing is while in the work horse (Stag) I was cruising down the road and spotted 2x GTOs on the road! In my hood! So the wife quickly tool some photos for me and they were the same 2 people who attended our last 4GT get together near Doncaster.

Must be a sign! f212a0767777e699605c3beb61822961.jpg20f6fd146ce6cf37160b7da469542b2d.jpg91ed929ea2d491a8f9bbb77778cccea7.jpg08a8cbba199d48f8d45a63b4e5b3922e.jpg8803c640b04d9085bf87be1d81430258.jpg3299ffacbcab9ace79f0b15e2bed06b4.jpga14d84873ad7d25aff68d5f382774a18.jpgde13bad838ed583395efcc3b152d64d4.jpgab35184f83cce6373f014f1ca6e928f8.jpg

So I found a water leak (actually, my daughter did). This was causing the engine to cut out due to the crank trigger getting wet and creating crank trigger issues to the ECU.

All because of a $2.00 O-ring.

Now I can focus on the cosmetics and get some paint on her...

The front pipe I had didn't fit and needed a flange to be changed.

Also I needed a cat to keep it legal.

The stock dump was restrictive and I wanted to ensure I allowed the engine to breath as efficiently as possible.

Off to GForce race solutions again for some tig welding services.

Gerardo supplied and installed the cat, fitted the exhaust without and issues whatsoever.

The car is now Road legal and ready for some fun driving.

I can't get enough of this machine! 0176449d8404e93ac805d2123c49adc2.jpgae34881991838076236e863d069ce801.jpg30ca874a540ae8c5954ef4c7ce79e7e9.jpg2018a6c75ed5bbf0a9f5ba78c497d6f1.jpg

She is, just a price increase. I get to sell it as a complete car and not partial.

So the roof is now black and the black faded matt trim paint has been redone also...

Look out for the next batch of photos!

Also, the car has been sold pending full payment and handover mid January.

I truly have learnt a lot from this car and will definitely be on the lookout for another one.

I'm proud to have been able to bring back to life a GTO that was in overall good condition but required some TLC with the engine / transmission / paint / interior only.

I would say it went from a 7/10 to a 9.5/10 in quality.

Definitely a head turner.

The new owner himself owns a Classic Ferrari, Honda NSX, Porsche, Jaguar e-type classics and Mercedes. So to want a GTO in his collection says something about these cars.

Merry Xmas all.

So, it's been a while...

The car is pretty much complete.
Stock restored vehicle.
Everything working extremely well for a 21 year old car.

Some photos I had taken recently attached.

It's now for sale for anybody interested.

I've got too many toys to play with so this doesn't get driven much. Once a fortnight? I could put it in storage but I'm sure I can build another one without feeling the guilt of destroying a perfect example of a GTO.

Remember, I do have a other NA auto GTO shell I can build in future =).

Anyway, enjoy the photos.

Thanks for viewing this build and it was a fun journey.

Oh by the way, the original sale fell through. Finance issues at the time. He ended up eventually buying another one from Sydney and has called me to state that he still would have preferred mine... Oh well. I get to enjoy it for a it longer...
