I think you need to pick up your game mate, you haven't done anything in ages....

I tried to get more done just for you today..

My dad came over to give me a hand so that helped!

We bled the clutch, installed the ps Ps pump, installed the air con compressor, installed the alternator, replaced the oil filter, replaced the sump plug (magnetic), connected the oil cooler lines, installed the starter motor, transfer case and related brackets etc.

Oh and axles also installed. Will need to get oil into the car and fire it up!

Finish by the weekend hopefully! 99b19380120c8155d4b9b2622b1211e2.jpgfb605d6b132bce2a2ec0d6a8ae8f9ce9.jpg1005056527fb2f976fed6f494f5a48f6.jpgea471b5603723b45a717df4bbc004fc7.jpg5cfb3bcb274181ac9fe8281898ca4ebe.jpg347015a303423b87afe65124417ae2d4.jpg64f3e7dd7de76ec58f71dfd3b656ed48.jpg

Did the belts today and sensor plugs. Power steering pump wire is a pain.

Also cleaned the wheel area, torqued the crane pulley, axle nut and mounted the wheels on the corners that are ready (both rears and passenger front).

1 corner to go, oils, piping and subframe. Then she'll be good to fire up! 717da9e6f7291594e0e6720a7145053a.jpg6d4dcfd50184d77822f8ed759829d11f.jpg1034e0fff5891da645424fe3598d11b3.jpgf810ea0044cdf7c2bd1df025fff6c624.jpg89c985f72a77c69b0b362a389e99833b.jpg71d2a780680f840be82b6d41468b05fe.jpgd841fc981c306b96351a56d68e4652ce.jpg58c35e366ff2d36b939f52d966fa9221.jpgc92ff0132451169618cae2f457d9a461.jpg

Once again. The session 's continue. Today is my birthday so after my special dinner with my family I managed to get some time in the garage.

I'm now done for the night so time to chill but progress so far.

1. Oils in (xfer got redline shock proof heavy and trans got diaqueen 75-85 trans fluid)
2. Exhaust is now bolted back up.
3. Drivers side wheel well cleaned up and wheel installed
4. Garage had a nice clean up now that most parts are on the GTO. 182550de4d114c307e747815778edfe0.jpg99571825c689f65be1d2fd40ecc51c3d.jpgbddb98963092442b0fc046e60006b905.jpg07800ae7d2f5fe10352559318b458143.jpg01cc08b355525552058ca354a9a1e8b4.jpg21b622c15c40e4186f516590f3e27f16.jpg3c7c1999a9c92021a88567c491fd3050.jpg6785e97a1a01cf5cdef9264c4eec43ac.jpg

Moved stuff around the garage. Hopefully I can drop the GTO off the hoist tomorrow and go for a drive.

Then decide on which car to put on next.

Firstly, happy belated birthday for yesterday Barry. You're an inspiration to many of us.
Those new wheels look very nice mate, should set it off well.

Thanks mate.
Appreciate the kind words.

I wasn't sure on the white /silver combo but it should look OK I think.

OK, today's update.

Some more cleaning and installation of the fiddly bits (intercooler piping etc).

Radiator has been flushed with the garden hose and will get the full radiator chemical flush treatment once running. This should clean out the block and head also.

New silicone hoses installed from the 1st gen gto I have. I'll save the alloy radiator for the 1st gen 4g63 GTO also. As this one is a stock street car, the stock radiator will be perfect.

I would have preferred black silicone hoses but it is an easy swap if needed.

I spent quite some time cleaning the gunk off the sub frame and related parts under the car. Lots of old E85 fuel was used in a tub to clean. I had a 20l drum of 2 yr old E85 from the Galant VR4 when it was being tuned. I'm glad I kept the fuel for cleaning purposes otherwise I'd be using heaps of degreaser.....

I also bought some engine oil for the initial fire up and engine flush. 10-40 for the first start and flush. Then move onto amsoil afterwards.

Enough for the night I think.. a6f7f532778be016fc38782e8513cff0.jpg5bf3ca60033d4dc9b13cb67b4666772b.jpgf97f14fc55d6fce2a301b838c0938a34.jpgc23fa8456e965e57932ac8c16968d1b0.jpgb55e2f3c4a0950d913e6d3bea3c7b821.jpg12e0987144a9c6b62779f05d6cbac2c3.jpg646e3a8acb6c617e8b5b9702dfaca3b1.jpg

Yeah that blue looks out of place thats for sure!
How good is e85 for cleaning....and smells better than degreaser too!

So before reinstallation of these last few bits, some clean up and paint is required...

I decided to use the parts from the 1sr Gen GTO since I won't need them for the 4g63 conversion.

Battery tray, bracket and heat Shields painted and Reinstalled... bbabb0a6f0f8408ba997658a1dcd9e6c.jpg60617b6693323e79ad1b6b2a3e5fea43.jpg8960f0cae8d0354dd800bb90ed69b75e.jpgdd2da36530995f69571e1bc96e81b233.jpg0111b3ca3116acdd218c5ccfa02332bf.jpgb53a2be3a82c11b7b1f8ce0b4f54b5ff.jpg

I had my big girl keep me company while I was working on the car. She followed and started playing with her little building set thingy... I'm glad she isn't scared of being on the tools..

Maybe I'll have a mini engineer one day.

So I made more use of the e85/unleaded fuel. Degreaser was doing a poor job of cleaning the bay so out came the big guns...

Degreaser in the grey / dirty colour.. Light Grey after using fuel...

Also changed out some rusted bolts. e599cce0cd8ecb512bca7dd7a85e8ce9.jpg07bff822f5b5379169249623d9271b02.jpgab1096904abfd96a31f3e6adddfe1e96.jpg119d023c7acdda26726786f84ec69871.jpg2bc7caa7dc9c3a47de998b737179af55.jpgfe2ef569c4ddae119937e92fba6cd206.jpg62f2a188441edd77040f960170c2ec21.jpg1d04f9402155644eb7ede1488272f7be.jpg89a4437e19ac04c93cf6c8e3e5018e3e.jpgbf756ce6cb4bbe78f481113d905291a5.jpg0335fd141ec7149d43d0ecb2d1181167.jpg8a4dbefe993d660a005958354871846a.jpg8ff957492fe6b570f56bda5c06320519.jpg

So..

Today was an interesting and productive day..

Up at 6, had my coffee and fruit. While the kids and wife were still asleep I managed to put in some fresh oil after the initial flush and also added some new water with another flush. 2 flushes should hopefully clear out the system. If not, I've got another bottle ready to be used...

While sorting out the GTO, I had to quickly fix the Stagea (tail gate swap out due to rust) and then pick up some parts (GTO stuff) for the car. I found a wrecker who had parts 10 years old and he just wanted them gone...

So the funny thing is while in the work horse (Stag) I was cruising down the road and spotted 2x GTOs on the road! In my hood! So the wife quickly tool some photos for me and they were the same 2 people who attended our last 4GT get together near Doncaster.

Must be a sign! f212a0767777e699605c3beb61822961.jpg20f6fd146ce6cf37160b7da469542b2d.jpg91ed929ea2d491a8f9bbb77778cccea7.jpg08a8cbba199d48f8d45a63b4e5b3922e.jpg8803c640b04d9085bf87be1d81430258.jpg3299ffacbcab9ace79f0b15e2bed06b4.jpga14d84873ad7d25aff68d5f382774a18.jpgde13bad838ed583395efcc3b152d64d4.jpgab35184f83cce6373f014f1ca6e928f8.jpg

After some brekky and some fun times in the park with the girls, back to the garage I went...

This time, the goal was to get it on the road and driving!

So, torque the wheel nuts, put on some covers with the help of my dad and out of the garage she went.

First impressions, well let's say it needs some toe in and a wheel alignment. Steering was loose and felt like spaghetti...

The engine was smooth, power delivery smooth, transmission shifted flawlessly.

Wheels looked mint! I can't be happier with the look. It definitely looks unique in terms of a GTO.

Obviously power is not what I am chasing. I don't think any other car that I own will compare to the power and rawness of my Galant VR4. There is only enough room for one of those machines in the stable....

I'm hoping to have a stress free weekend toy that looks nice and has enough go to give me some enjoyment.

Makes the Galant looks so out dated.....

Oh it was also great to have an empty garage....

For 5 minutes..

Next customer! RVR ready to get slaughtered...

Parts car (auto and 4g63)...f6df4a2ac2234d08ffdc8174d8818fec.jpg24bc933bd2ed341f5747b265bdffe9f8.jpge4c890323fcfa9b63e850e1193304b99.jpg7a1214a61de97dcbf5b2010d6a00ae75.jpg612b52ac467f443415ab6547a3768a8b.jpg58155f0b0dd6b61cd79e5e3d61fa34a8.jpg3b80d0363a9c723fbbf63a17b0705ec5.jpg23e7ece05ebb462b54ad8475d345fc98.jpg97cace3e62bbe73b6cc73647fb626adb.jpg69dbb9d7cc875a0ea6a06f5e57c9b79f.jpg09efc2fba000bc58b0a06899ec64eaa0.jpg
