Can the CP50 gearbox bolt on to 4g93T in a fwd Proton Satria Gti?

If so what need to be done to get it bolted on, I can't find any info on CP50 bolting onto the 1.8 gsr.

Wae.

Yes, will bolt on. You would need a Gsr flywheel and starter plate.
But, you will have no provision for roll stop mounts. Get a Gsr gearbox and use that. You can't bolt on a transfer case unless you bolt in a awd n/s bar and subframe.

Haven't seen a gsr gearbox up for sale.... just wanted to keep a spare gearbox incase the current one 4g93P shit itself.

Not quite understand what you meant by no provision for roll stop mounts. There's no CP50 gearbox pictures / details are available on google to do comparison. I have been given the wrong gearbox no, it is C50PH.  <_<

If I do proceed with mounting on the CP50 to a fwd 4g93T, does that meant I will require the following:
-gsr starter plate; is the plate same as the 4G93P?
-will require a 7 bolts fwd flywheel; Can I use back the 4g93P 7 bolts flywheel, it has a flat surface (no steps) to utilise 215mm clutch disc or theres an alternate fwd flywheel that can use 230mm clutch disc?

Check your proton, are the roll stops (front and rear mounts) on the block or gearbox?

As Jack stated, if on the gearbox, the c50 box doesn't have provisions for mounting them.

Is the c50 box you are referring to from an awd Galant VR4?

If so, you will need to lock the centre diff to run fwd

Exactly as baz said.^

You need the starter plate that comes with the gearbox, or a awd gearbox starter plate.
You need a stepped 4g93 flywheel. Flat one is too big and rubs inside bell housing, and 7bolt 4g63 flywheel has dowel in wrong spot.

But, no roll stops can mount on the gearbox, so you are wasting your time.

Just don't break your gearbox.

What happened to your rvr, Wae?

Also need a pressure plate to suit stepped flywheel.
Clutch plate...splines are the same, 215 will fit, not sure about a 230mm on a awd flywheel

Checked today, both mount brackets are on the gearbox. Now I understand where Jack is coming from, it defeat the purpose of getting the c50, c50p, cp50 gearbox "what is the actual code"  :fuuuuu:

There's a seller in WA, has two of those gearbox; he said it will suit my 4g93 and its switchable fwd/awd by poking a screw thru. Anyway the above gearbox can't be use, if I can't get hold of a fwd gearbox; best chances is to find a gsr, evo 1 2 3 gearbox with a fwd lock? Where can I get this fwd lock from? Re the gearbox transfer case shaft do I just leave it as it or needed to be cover up?

I will try not to break it, but I do take it to the Barbagallo once a while and found out the gear is not poping when im trying to shift while going high speed - not sure why maybe u guys would know? Now I'm building a 4g93T after put a hole thru the 4g93P block. The stock rods are like toothpick

RVR is back on the road now, is not boosting and rad fan is not running, will need to redo the plumbing in next few months. I always suspect it could be the maf (it has no number on it) and the unknown chip inside the ecu, but it has the yellow 510cc injectors.

It also killed 2 batteries and the immobiliser crap itself after a constant battery drainage issue while its off the road for many years. It was a loose red wire connection beside the key barrel should have found this earlier.

I think the correct codes are:

c50ph -> is the switchable tranny (2wd/4wd)
c51ph -> if for the 88-89 JDM VR4 (early GVR4s) and select foreign market (a specimen was reported in Australia for example) GVR4s
From my friends with a switchable 2WD->4WD JDM Galant trans that I would LOVE to get a hold of:
C5OPH-EK1420 or C5JPF-FL8420
See JDM FWD/AWD Switchable Tranny for more details.

I left my transfer case stub sticking out. Bmgtz may have a locking spline, mine came from him.

Gearbox popping out maybe worn bearings or synchros, or sliders. I'd get another proton gearbox and try it.

Good to see you stuck with the rvr, and got the cylinder head back on. Maybe ditch the ecu and go to a later evo ecu
