Hi guys

I don't drive my E1 much. Perhaps once every fortnight. Often the battery is dead and needs to be put on a charger.

However, given the recent holidays, I've driven it a couple of days in the week. It seems my battery (perhaps a year old) drains to the point where it clicks (doesn't crank) within 3-4 days.

My guess is that there's something draining it that fast. Any ideas? It has an alarm, but I checked with the installer and he thinks the battery would only drain over about 2 weeks, not 3-4 days.

I've noticed the door light stays on (but gets brighter when the door opens). Could that be a factor?

Thanks!

I had exactly the same issue - drove me bananas for months

Got to the point where I'd come home and put the car on trickle charge religiously

Checked parasitic draw - pulled all the fuses - nothing.....

Disconnected alternator - battery maintained charge

Ended up being a faulty diode in the alternator!

Hard to find the rite alternator as well!

Cheers

Mike

Thanks Mike! I had the alternator replaced a few years ago, but might have been a reconditioned one or not factory quality!

Under the bonnet, in the fuse box is 2 green fuses.
I remove those fuses when not using car and the little pc680 battery that I use to start the car, doesn't go flat, even after a month or more. Ymmv
