Hi guys. Just wondering if any one has fitted one of the newer model Walbro 525 fuel pumps in their GSR/ Evo I-III tanks yet? If so, did you need to cut it down or modify the cradle?
Second item: I have a Walbro 460 fuel pump in my car and an intermittent niggly problem where I can drive the car short trips and turn off the motor to park. Come back and it starts no problem - all is normal. However on longer trips when I park up, when I return to the car and turn key, the fuel pump isnt priming. Its actually not working. Ive replaced the relay with new ones but still no love. I have to wait an hour (until something cools down it seems), then turn to accessories, the fuel pump primes and it starts no problem.
Haltech have checked the ecu and its been physically checked and fine. We've even used another PS1000 to double check that the ecu wasnt the issue.
The Walbro 460 sees both 98 pump and e85 as I have a flexfuel system setup. But it cant have had more than 3,000km use.
Im going to check power to it with a multimeter after my next long drive but make sure I come home before I switch off. That way I will definitely know if its power getting to the pump or the pump itself.
Has anyone else heard of the 460's failing?

are you using a fuse or breaker on the 12v supply to the pump?

Ah Ok thanks guys. I will treat it as a faulty 460 pump. I did have to cut the barb off the 460 to fit it into the GSR/Evo cradle and Ive since found out the 525 is 5mm longer. So it will need its barb cut off too. Cheers. I'll buy one roght away. 😁
