Am thinking about having a crack at dabbling in a bit of carbon and fibreglass work - a new front bar will be on the cards.

Its always better making a car lighter. The equal.and opposite effect is that it also makes your wallet lighter too lol.
I hear you there mate!
I'm too far committed to this thing to start taking short-cuts with how I want to do things. This round of work will make the car easier to work on and just make the overall setup less cluttered. I'm also having the clearances cut into the front and rear guards to run the 255 tyres I've been planning to use for years.

Made moulds for the sedoupe guards but they are not great, so having another go this weekend.
Plan is to make the actual parts in carbon for super light weight.
Also replacing the dash with a carbon skin. Weighs nothing!

Slowly chipping away. The redone hybrid coupe/evo sedan guards are pretty much done, I have blanked the indicator opening and am just spending a bit of time refining the surface before making the new fibreglass moulds.
Have had the 255/40/17 tyres fitted to the Enkei RPF1s and fitted them up for a final clearance check to the front guards and to have a play with the position of the front flares.
Will make the carbon guards in an unmodified shape and then trim them up to fit the flares and air diversion guides. This will give me flexibility to make more parts in the future and change the shape if I like. Will bolt the flares to the carbon guards. The plan is for the guards and flares to be in body colour.

Fitting the CDL3 and PDM keypad to the carbon dash in preparation for installation to the car. Have had to design and make an attachment strategy to hold the dash in place.

Trying something different from a vent perspective on the bonnet. Needed to have the original vent openings welded up so the new vent setup can work....
