Hey Guys

Just brought a 1994 GSR Lancer project from QLD, already mod plated for Brakes, 4g63t conversion and fuel system upgrade comes with an RVR engine to go in as the original engine had crank walk and is long gone

Has evo 3 bonnet, body kit etc

Seems pretty tidy from the pictures (I am in Melbourne) getting it picked up on the 22nd and delivered on the 23rd

Has either an evo or gsr loom in it with a ps1000 adapter, original ecu and ps1000 are long gone. RVR motor comes with ecu (Auto) and loom

Plan is to just get it all running and registered and then look at building up a 2.3L build, this is a weekend/summer car which will get some track time

Need to work out how many parts are missing as well

Keeping an eye out for Sonata and N/A 4g63 engines at wreckers as ill build something up on the side with a 4g69 crank and forged rods etc, I am a bit believer in High comp builds with E85 and good tuning

In no rush as I have another car in the build at the moment so once I get it delivered will start a build log and pictures

I will try get it running with the RVR ecu, but have parts to make an adapter to a speeduino ecu as well if needed (I have a lot of other tuning parts (wideband, external map, boost control solenoid etc) so if I do put a Speeduino in it will max out the Td04 (as I think its a 2g rvr motor)

Am also looking into getting an evo 6,6.5,7 ecu and wiring that in with larger injectors and maf to suit as another option

Will probably get a TD05 20g for the 2.3L or a HX35 but that's awhile away

Long term it will get a Haltech but trying to keep the budget down on this at the moment

Will start a build log as well :)

Look forward to any knowledge/advice from the forum (not sure how many people on here these days)

The later model evo ECU is more than capable to do most things an aftermarket job can do, with the right tuner.
You don't need an AFM you can use speed density instead and the injectors from them are cheap as chips these days.
There are plenty of discussions on here about this, and which pins need to be swapped at the ECU to get it going.

And don't fuck around with the 20g on the 2.3.
Go the Holset all day long!
They are a mad turbo, had one on my Evo.

Did you buy this from Jeremy?
if so the old owner is a mate of mine and the Haltech loom was used to wire it. It isn’t adapted to the stock loom at all.
it should also have some half decent coil overs in it along with the AP racing brake setup which cost him over 4K when he imported it from the UK.

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.
