Recently joined the forum after years of reading the information, so I thought I better start little bit of information about my main 4G
Its a 1994 Hatch, started life as a Mirage X automatic in immaculate condition and the very careful one lady owner was a member of the 'mitsubishi safety drivers club' (anyone heard of that? There was a sticker on the rear bumper for it). It even came with her shopping list that contained typical old person things like cat food and fertilizer for the rose.
The story doesn't start there though, that's half way through. I had a coupe previously which had the same running gear and was a very successful vehicle. I held a national hillclimb title with it one year. The following year I wrote it off with a small mishap in an unforgiving part of a hill, flipping it, landing on the roof before bouncing back to be on our wheels. Was an expensive blessing in disguise as it was a good opportunity to improve during the rebuild. Fortunately the running gear was basically unaffected and I started the accelerated process to re-shell.
The new car is improved, and has its modifications certified to be road legal here in New Zealand.. not that it gets used much on the road but its quite handy for doing diagnosis and basic tuning.

Best recorded 1/4 Mile time was 10.34 @ 220km/h. That was on hillclimb tyres on a rough chip road. Not as grippy as prepped track, but probably better than non-prepped drag strip.
My other 4g is a 94 Manual RVR Sports Gear, which has become my daily recently. I have a Stinger GT but bought the RVR as a hack for the dogs but enjoy driving it so much, and the freedom that it gives that I haven't really used the stinger since. Who would have thought haha. The RVR might form another project beyond the catch up maintenance that its currently getting but that will be another thread.
