Hey guys. It’s been 10 years since I sold my Evo converted gsr and I finally gave into the nostalgia and got back into a genuine Evo 2.

Gearbox is having the typical issues. 3rd gear synchro gone, 4th gear bearings gone, 5th gear synchro gone. I’m looking to do a full rebuild through a shop if anyone can recommend somewhere that’s likely to have everything needed on the shelf. I imagine meek would but I couldn’t get through on the phone today. Gearbox express rebuilt my gsr box 10 years ago but he said he can only source parts through meek these days.

Also open to private sales on anything that may be considered an upgrade or worth doing while I’m in there. I’m still unsure if it’s an lsd box but will confirm when I’m with the car next.

I have seen synchros and bearings available for w5m33 boxes but I’m guessing Evo’s love to be difficult and aren’t the same. I’m hearing a lot of talk about synchrotech carbon synchros as well but can’t see anything available.

Car is also currently running a twin plate unsprung setup for some reason? I’d like to ditch that for something more suitable. Extreme clutches sprung cushioned ceramic can hold 600nm which is a touch more than my power goals but would love to hear if anyone has run one before and can comment on the pedal feel and drivability of it all. Ability to slip is the goal, reducing harsh shifts but able to hold 250-300kw

Happy to be back guys!
