on a 1.8.. can do you a custom turbo setup using TD05H componentry... which means that it wont be an off the shelf turbo.. anyways ill go find this stuff for you and when you come over ill talk to you about it.. obviously im not going to tell the world what is done to it.. but it will suit what you want from your car.

Lag is more a result of exhaust housing mods/size rather than compressor wheel size (Although it does play a small part)

If the cars mainly a street car stick to a TD05 16g on the 1800. Any bigger and you're starting to need a lot of room to be able to wind it up and you lose than punch of boost out of corners.

An Evo here in NZ ran 10s on the stock TD05 16g - its possible to get the good power out of them if need be :)

Barry can get hold of a tdo5/6 23g hybrid, acheiving 22psi at 4500rpm, he also had some 780cc injectors to suit.

Its like rob (CREATD) telling everyone in the world how his GSR can run 134mph.. theres secrets that take time/money and effort to work out.. if everyone knew then why would they come to you? they would just do it themselves.

If you want a turbo built to my specs.. ill get it done.. thats all.

You can't really expect anybody to pay for something without knowing what they are getting can you?

If I was buying a item of considerable value like a turbo charger, I would like to be dealing with a well known and trusted proffessional and I would still want to visit thier shop so that I could check out the item for myself.
I don't know wether you are trustworthy or not and more to the point, what are your skills and credentials?
How long have you been in the business of upgrading turbos?
Can you refer to any satisfied customers for a testimonial?
Good luck with your new fly by night backyard enterprise.

PS the main reasons blokes don't give away the secrets of thier setup is they don't want anyone else to have a similar setup. Not so they can make a quick buck.

They are buying a turbo that will make the power to run what they tell me they want to run. If they want something about more powerful we can experiment and move up in the range of comp wheels we use etc.

i dont build the turbos.. i get them built to my spec.. the guy who builds them has been tweaking mitsubishi turbos for about 15 years.. started off building turbos for the starions etc.. years and years ago..

And for anyone who is curious.. supply me a 14b turbo in decent condition, ill get it race prepped.. and hi flowed with a big 16g wheel... clipped.. and it will be capable of 220kw.. just like my car with the right supporting mods. Cost is ~$900

How long have you been in the business of upgrading turbos?

Read above.. I get a reasonable discount on turbos etc.. and i pass that on to people who want what i have on my car.. even the guy who builds my turbos will not tell you what i have.. if you asked for a turbo like mine he will build only with my permissions.

If anyone walked into the shop front and asked for what i have on my car.. he would tell you its $300 + on what my price is on it cos he wants people to go through me, as its my custom setup that i created.

Can you refer to any satisfied customers for a testimonial?

my personal car, has run 12.09 on big 16g.. street tyres/street fuel
gsr has run mid 11s with stock manifold.. we are talking stock stock!
Stock vr4 is being modified.. is in the makings.. hoping to run mid 12s on stock ecu/injectors/big16g and jspec cooler

Good luck with your new fly by night backyard enterprise.

its actually not my back yard business.. its what you would call a reseller..

PS the main reasons blokes don't give away the secrets of thier setup is they don't want anyone else to have a similar setup. Not so they can make a quick buck

Heres something for you.. create a car out of your workshop that can put out 219.7kw on stock bottom end.. chipped ecu.. and street fuel..and big16g.

its not easy... it took alot of experimental work..

Jon

told me 18g will be best option.

why don't you give mark at gtpumps a buzz?
he should be able to work something out for you...
a lot of people seem to run TD05's with 060 housings on 1.8's to get the faster spool up.
speak to GSRSOL about this, he was running an Evo III 16G with 060 rear housing.
maybe a TD05H front housing with 20G compressor wheel, TD05H turbine wheel and 060 exhaust housing?

After running the 7cm? housing on my GSR i'm going to trial the 6cm? housing from the VR-4 TD05 with the 4G93T being built for my Mirage. The 7cm? housing made plenty of power, but as a street car it needed a bit of room to wind it up. Will probably stick to the 'small' 16g comp wheel in the TD05 cover though

a 20g on a 2 litre.. speaking to someone who has done it.. they said it makes boost around 3500rpm til about 5000rpm.. on a 1.8/1.9 not sure when it would come, but my guess would say around 4000rpm mark and probably go to around 5500/6000rpm? if you rev your motor to around 7000rpm.. thats about 3000rpm of useable power.. whether thats what youd fancy in a car or not thats your choice!

just telling you what i was told from someone who has a 20g turbo.

My evo has power from about 3000rpm all the way til 7500rpm. so thats about 4500rpm of useable power!
