evo 1 front bumper and an evo 1 boot with spoiler......he has advertised them as evo 2
http://cgi.ebay.com....=item4aaa98466f
hi all
just want to know what every1 out there think about this issue I'm having with the seller of this item on eBay.
The story so far is I won this auction for the front bar and boot/spoiler for $335. I made contact with the seller to arrange a time to pick it up as I'm from Melbourne and he's In NSW. No money has been exchange yet as I was planning to give it to him when I pick it up. The issue is he wants more for the item than the original price I won. I told him I'll let him know if I'll agree to his new offer.
Thanks in advance for ur feedback.

I'd be reporting the prick to eBay too... And leaving abusive feedback.
It's against there shitty policy- but they will probably do fuck all to help you, even though they should.
Good luck...

If you win an item on eBay it's a binding contract.

Dean- If only those rules were enforced all of the time!

Yeah, the seller wasn't happy with the final auction price even though he set the starting bid at $300 and said that it's worth more. He should have set a reserve price.
All I can do now is either accept his final offer or not buy the item at all.
I hope eBay can do something about it.
Thank for the advice guys...Much appeciated.

Here is my story:
I contacted the guy through ebay, to check if he would post to WA.
Him: no problem as long as you made a descent offer
Me: well its an ebay item . I was going to try my luck on the auction at 400 max (its an auction so why not).
Him: there is a reserve for $700 on the item
Me: Thats over my price limit and said thank you and good luck with the sale
He then tries to bargain with me and wants to sell it to me for $600 and he pays for postage. I told him Id think about it, he then replies that he has taken the add down from ebay.
I thought the price was ok. So I told him to wait until I get paid and then Id give him a call. 2 days later he messages me saying postage is too much and I need to pay half, I said no. We had some back and forth discussion for a while, in which i proceeded to tell him the wing isnt even evo 2 its evo 1 (thanks to the original poster for pointing that out) and I told him i doubt the front bar is evo 2. He kept denying my accusation then finally admited to it and we went back to the agreement.
So he was gonna charge me $600 for them and him pay for postage.
Seeing that he has mucked someone else around makes me think scammer! Im not to keen on handing any cash over!!
Also sorry to the abov poster if he was ripping you off just so he could sell it to me, I obviously wasnt aware of this.

Thanks for confirming with me that this guy is a scammer. I won the auction which had no reserve price (still getting emails to make payment via Paypal so that the seller can post the item to me-even though the ad stated pick up only). Been getting SMS from him asking if I still wanted the bar and boot for the higher price he offered ($450). Told him last night that I'll only take the item for the amount I won it for. I also stated that I would be ok with splitting the item and only take the front bar for $250. He was ok with that but wanted to sell just the bar for $350, where I won the auction for $335.
Just finish reporting him to eBay.
The good thing about all this is that my friend just recently selling his front bar for a pretty good price to me.

at the same time I posted the original message here about the items being on ebay. I sent the guy a kindly worded message that the items were of evo 1 appearance not evo 2 and there were obvious differences.

bit of a steal ???

$1500 is the going rate for a good EVO 3 box pretty much. Be wary though, the auction says AUCTION IS FOR THE GEAR BOX ONLY, so not the E3 transfer case nor the E3 rear diff as per his EBay subject header.
The E3 gearbox is useless without the matching E3 transfer case to mate it up to an EVO rear end.
Unless someone wants to swap out the E3 front diff crownwheel to GSR 58 toooth + matching GSR 15 tooth output pinion if looking to put it into a GSR (with GSR transfer case and GSR rear diff; or
Swap out the E3 crownwheel to an EVO I/II 64 tooth crownwheel to suit EVO I/II transfer case and rear diff.
Also, there is no mention if it is the viscous LSD version or not... no gearbox code listed. If it is, you'd be hard pressed tracking down the LSD cup and front drivers side cv shaft.
There's more to it when buying an E3 box that people first anticipate unless they are straight up replacing it into an existing E3 driveline
