nah, just the diff body to suit the 4 pinion, the TMZ will do the trick


also been hacking up the racefab crossmember :o lowering and solid mounting the steering rack

Looking good Georgie!!

I had my clutch plates simply modified by drilling out the rivets of the centre spline section and had them reinstall new evo4-9 type ones for a fraction of the cost.

My clutch was Locally made though.
What setup you running again?

Have you considered going larger output shaft to the xfer case?
You might have to do the xfer case upgrade unless you reckon the stock setup will hold up..

Wow, I can see where the $$ goes in the dogbox parts. They're already deburred and chamfered.
Can see the 5th gear subgear as well. You got the full set of numbers there mate.

My upgraded cross shaft from TMZ arrived today, amazing service from Tim, highly reccomend him to anyone else

I also received the new clutch plates to suit evo 4-9 input shaft (PPG has the larger late model input shaft spline), still need to get the cross shaft polished though.

george maybe in the future you may want to look into an ikeya shifter to really utilize this sexy gearset and dont know if you know who stm are in nz. well andre simon who built docile has made what he calls the ghost shifter which makes the ikeya shifter even cooler by air shifting the thing for you with paddles or buttons..

Yup def takes some getting use too specially when you can just let it bang the limiter to grab the next gear no clutch needed on up shifts

pre load shifter, foot off throttle, back on throttle.
the loss of load on throttle off allows for the gearbox to unload and shift gears.

How do you go with downshifts baz I can up shift casually with no problems driving in traffic but downshifting I can't do it unless I match the revs and still have to do it fairly firm.

wait until you see it all polished up J, you will be super jelly then. I dropped off the cross shaft to be polished today also so it will all be good to go tomorrow or thursday

I reassembled the clutch also so that can be fitted back on the flywheel tomorrow

On the street I double clutch on up shifts.
Down shifts I simply rev match. Once you get used to it, it becomes second nature.

As you said, just need to be direct. None of this weak/soft shifting. All shifts need to be a single, direct and firm action.  Baby it and you are more likely to damage it ...
