helps the oil run back to the sump faster, the cradle is also polished/smoothed, oil drains from the head radiused etc

yep, all of my oil galleries have alse been radiused, enlarged and smoothed on the block, filter housing and oil pump.

All of them together work well

I was thinking about using armature paint on mine, I've done the smoothing and gallery work already, it's nice to know the paint holds up ;)

old school v8 style.... its been ages since i have heard anyone painting the inside of the block (or Teflon coat)... still works a treat!

nah its a maxspeeding rods one, 4340 billet one, nice and light


did you do all the engine work yourself?


I did most of the polishing, cleaning, grunt work, assembly by BJP automotive

with the engine being out the plan is to do a few upgrades to the sump and windage trays.
 
I used this an excuse to strip down the 64 that's been sitting in the shed for 3 years to use it as a dummy block for the sump.

I wish, I aim to do all the shitty work on it that costs nothing over this year and maybe build it up next year. I have a spare head that will be ported more extensively than my current one to suit the 64.
just plug slowly away as $$ allow.

Im thinking a super long rod 2.2 might be the go? but then id need a bigger turbo lol


I'll have the 100mm crank to sell soon too. the engine was surprisingly good condition :)

I hung a cp9a oil filter housing off the block for a look,it bolts right on, but hits my sump on the lower outlet for the oil cooler :(

a few changes to come :)

dry sump then clearance issue is gone ;)
