cars coming along slowly at the moment, so i thought i would put up a couple of pics of the engine bits and pieces as i go.

whole lot has been balanced including clutch and balancer also

Good to see this is coming along. You must be itching to put it all back together and have some fun with her!

LIKE YOU WOULDNT BELIEVE,

its about 3 months behind the 8 ball at the moment

gearbox is being reco'd at the moment witha front lsd.

its good to see the big pile of parts slowly dissapearing of the bench.

still have cage and other stuff to go

When you need a roll cage i strongly recommend Rai Curry at FabRaiCations in Braeside. Arguably best cage builder in melb. Has recently done all current ralliart competition cars as well as all the bolt ins for the evo clubspecs through ralliart. Also stuff for FPV & HSV. And many of the leading privateers.[/url]

i used to see it parked outside that shop everytime i drove down to pistons auto.. infact i think i stopped and took afew pics

Yeah Rai did my cage and heaps of other motorsport fabrication work for me. Lots more extras need on rally cars like sump gaurds, light bars, terratrip mounts, camera mounts, underbody protection etc.

He has done a bit for jeff beaumont from techsport too but theyve been pretty basic cages from what ive seen.

Would you be looking at a full weld in or bolt in job?

i have seen heaps of rays work in the past and it looks the goods

quick update. interior is totally stripped,

coilovers off being resprung and revalved and fitted with
noltec adjustable tops.

going in for a full fia weld in rollcage next week.

gearbox is finished with beefed up front lsd and strengthened
driveshafts

meek cooler piping kit on the way.

a guy i know is doing it for me,

he used to contract for ray and now has his
own factory to do work in,

im just glad it is finally on the go

all sound deadener removed from the car
thanks to the fantastic wonders of dry ice.

from start to finish only took me about 90mins,

including clean up time.

if i had cams the engine would be together also,

one drama after another, thats the joys of cars i guess

front and rear screens have been removed for cage work,

got a really sweet deal on some custom valved teins set up with
different linier spring with different rates etc, much more suited to track/tarmac hence the sale of the billys,

got a set of oz rims from steve from ajai(thanks heaps mate for your help)

fuel tank flushed, tail shaft recod, gear box back from being reco also with beefed up front lsd,

still no cams aaarrrggghhh

for sure mate, will do,

i am hoping to have it back with the cage done on the 8th of september,

cant wait, converting to a standar rear windscreen also, new front.

will then go to get the cage,floor and other spares painted black.

hopefully by then engine will be together, if i squint hard enough
i think i might be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel
