You won't need power steering on that thing George.

I have thought about either a Astra electric ps pump or a steering column with the electric motor, I might do that down the track.

I have also thought about not running p/s at all but with the tyre size and the amount of castor I run I don't think I will at this stage.

Too heavy :P

I like the idea of the column with the electric motor and controller, see how we go.

Not hating on Baz's setup but its definatley better for a drag car than circuit. I need a setup
that can reduce at speed to give good feel which an electric (or hydro electric if controlled) offers.

I am just searching around for the right setup for my car at the moment

You can run the pump to an output on your ecu. It will change the speed pending the pwm signal. Mine is simply on and off. it will need some form of an input, maybe a pressure switch that reads fluid pressure so it knows when you are trying to steer.

indeed I could, the main focus at the moment is to get out and test, see what it does and go from there

I started fitting up the bonnet vents today, got it mostly done.

Im now over the pain of cutting the stock bonnet, its getting light now thats for sure

It took a while to measure them up and get them where I wanted so that the drivers side vent covered the original vent hole

I still need to secure them in but most of the fiddly part is now done

I pulled the power steering out of mine an its a pig to steer now, I expected it to be alot lighter to be honest, coming out of low speed corners at WOT it rips the wheel out of ya hands, we put a 350mm steering wheel in at the last dirt track day an it helped.
Ill be looking to fit an astra elec P/S pump soon, now Trippy has it sorted ill just copy his

yeah the TS astra pump is cheap, easy to wire in too,

If/when I do it I will be looking at something like this

http://www.ebay.com....=item1c2a8fc6cd

There is ones with controllers that the escort guys yse though which once setup would be better Im guessing

map sensor mounted on a bracket on the firewall, coils also mounted for the final time.

I also removed the surge tank as it had a tiny leak, interestingly I have had e85 sitting inside it for 6 months, its a bare alloy tank and no sign of
gunk or blackness in there.
Also no adverse effects to the fuel level sensor either......happy days

Dash is also almost ready to be moulded in carbon.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
